Welcome to domain mover, a series from DotWeekly when we (me and my mouse in my hand) discover domain names that are moving for one reason or another and the vast majority are tied to large corporations.
Coming off of a weekend, I rarely post these on Monday’s but I was able to dig up several interesting movers, so here we go!
BiggestLoser.com which is tied to the very popular TV show that is on NBC, has transferred ownership from Shine Television, LLC to Endemol International BV. The BiggestLoser.com domain name has been using FoxInc.com domain name servers since 11/18/2012 which I found interesting by itself, simply because the TV show is on NBC. A recent joint venture with, 21st Century Fox’s Shine Group, Apollo’s Endemol and Core Media will be merged, creating a global entertainment giant according to the WSJ.
Some other domains that moved included TheBiggestLoser.com, BiggestLoserClub.com and BiggestLoserRanch.com.
PetsPlan.com has been acquired by PET PLAN LIMITED for an undisclosed amount. The domian transferred on March 8, 2015 according to whois records. The domain was owned by DOMAIN DAKINI, INC. and was listed for sale at Afternic, but that listing still remains after the sale… so the transaction likely took place in private or at another service like Sedo for an example. The domains name servers were set to Afternic.
TVRevolt.com was acquired on the drop by CE Trademark LLC for iFolio Inc. which took place in May 2014. The domain was registered with Dynadot prior and was grabbed by OCTOPUSDOMAINS.NET LLC which appears to be owned by Network Solutions. The domain has since transferred to CSC CORPORATE DOMAINS, INC. They also own Revolt.tv which is a website.
BIC Corporation registered the domain name BicSpringBreak2015.com and has just launched a website on it for its Bic Soleil Glow and Flex5 razor brands. The website is “powered by” FotoZap.com and stated to check back March 10, 2015 for spring break photos. FotoZap states: “The Complete Social Photography Solution for Event Marketing at Any Scale. We offer on-brand solutions designed to fit the marketing goals of brands and agencies.”
AndroidHacks.com has been acquired by WonderHowTo.com. They are redirecting the domain name to http://android.wonderhowto.com/
Noodle.com has been acquired by Noodle Education Inc. from Reflex Publishing Inc. who stated the domain name was “not for sale” via whois. Fucking liers! The transaction completed on April 18, 2014 when the domain transferred from Moniker to GoDaddy and the registrant changed. Noodle is an education site. I reported on another domain Reflex Publishing sold more recently and that was Colitis.com as featured here. Using my noodle, I’m thinking that Noodle.com sold for a lot of money!
MI.net has been acquired from a CTI Networks, Inc. by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client with whois currently using the generic data of DNStination Inc. The domain transferred from Domain.com to MarkMonitor. MI.com sold for $3.6 Million in 2014 by Xiaomi, who also uses the MarkMonitor registrar. TheDomains.com did some great coverage on several other MI domain so I would expect Xiaomi as the buyers.
Thanks for the list, Jamie. I would not be touching ‘android’ domains as Google is very aggressive with their tm as it applies to the OS.
No problem Acro! I agree on the Android domains! It’s just not worth it when you can do most of the work with SEO and good content! Sub-domains work well on tech sites.

Have you managed to track down any of the prices of their sold domains from publically available info eg buyers’ (public) financial accounts etc?
Gotta respect Schwartz – at least he makes public his sold prices as far as possible
I do not dig SEC filings but I guess I could start to! George K does a really good job at SEC filings, so I’m not sure if he has ever ran into any. I’d have to know specific domains they sold to see if any of the companies that purchased are public.
