Premium generic domain name Duck.com has transferred domain name registrars and potentially has been acquired by DuckDuckGo from Google Inc.

Google Inc. has owned the premium generic domain name Duck.com since it acquired On2 Technologies in 2010, who owned the domain name prior.

DuckDuckGo, which operates a privacy browser, has said that by Google owning Duck.com, that it confuses its users. This is not something I believe but they have mentioned it:

Facebook Inc. has transferred the premium 2 letter domain name FB.com out of brand protection service MarkMonitor to self owned domain registrar, RegistrarSafe, LLC.

Facebook acquired RegistrarSEC in April 2016 and the registrars website states:

Last week I had noticed that M12.com had been acquired from Name Administration Inc. for an undisclosed amount. At the time, I had noted that M12.vc made a name server change the very same day, which was owned by Microsoft.
