Some HUGE domain names in today’s domain name movers list, so let’s get right into it:
GoDaddy/NameFind sells 3 more, 3 letter .com domain names. Those included HWS.com, LJX.com and NZD.com. All went to a Chinese buyer. GoDaddy has to be running low on inventory for LLL .com’s now. They had over 100 from the Worldwide Media portfolio and sold those. They then secured 45 more when they purchased the Elite Domains portfolio and now those are almost all sold.
Cleveland Browns take ownership of the domain name Browns.com from the NFL. The domain name transferred out of brand protection service MarkMonitor to domain registrar Tierranet Inc. and is redirecting to ClevelandBrowns.com. From my understanding, the NFL owns the majority of the NFL teams domain names, so it’s interesting this domain transferred ownership to the team.
Based on whois records, the NFL acquired the domain name around June 2011.
Remote.com appears to have been acquired. The domain name has moved out of whois privacy and into whois data for Escrow.com. The domain name was using Domain Name Sales at the time. The domain name has been registered since 1992.
Remote.com has been set to CloudFlare housing right away, so there is potential the buyers may be revealed pretty quickly. GREAT domain name.
Belnick Inc. has acquired the generic product domain name FoldingChairs.com for $9,500
Moneyish.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client via Afternic.
Thumbprint.is has secured the EMD .com domain name Thumbprint.com from GoDaddy. The domain name had a $25,000 buy now price.
Winnipeg.com appears to have sold coming out of whois privacy and going into Escrow. Big Name, Big Money!
Hosting changes on some BIG domain names happen a lot but I rarely report them as they have not changed ownership, but an example of a couple recently are: Tweak.com, Kiss.com and GiftCertificates.com
FAOCandy.com and FAOCartoons.com follows suit with the recent FAO.com movement from Geoffrey LLC to eStream, Inc which DotWeekly recently broke the news on.
Catchy common term domain name BarnBurner.com has been sold and moved into Escrow, via Escrow.com
