Welcome to another round of company domain name movers. The following domain names were registered, purchased or simply moving for some reason by large companies. These domain names are often early indicators of future products, services etc.
Unknown
CRC.com may have been purchased by a CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain is/was owned by L3 Coleman Aerospace and they use the domain Coleman-Aerospace.com and L-3com.com and others. Sometimes CSC gains new clients, as Coleman has its domain names with Network Solutions, so this could be the case with CRC.com that it’s moving into CSC because Coleman Aerospace will transfer all of its nearly 300 domains to the corporate domains provider… but right now it doesn’t look that way.
A July 2014 page shows the domain CRC.com was on a standard NSI landing page if that means anything….
L3 Coleman Aerospace does own several other 3 letter .com domains like HTI.com, LNR.com and two very nice generic domain names in Storm.com and Link.com
TGI Fridays of Minnesota, Inc.
Has moved the domain name Fridays.com from a self hosted domain on Carlson.com to a MarkMonitor dedicated server. The domain was forwarding to TGIFridays.com and the domain is once again doing the same. So why the move?
Carlson has sold TGI Fridays to a private equity group.
Several more domains would appear to be included with the sale, like FridaysVisit.com, MoreStripes.com, GiveMeMoreStripes.com and TGIFridays.com to mention a few.
TenCent
It appears that TenCent (bank) has purchased the domain name WeBank.com . The domain was owned by Naver.com according to whois and whois switched to generic MarkMonitor data. Now WeBank.com has changed to WeBank Financial Technology Limited with a TenCent email address. Both are located in China.
Manheim Remarketing, Inc.
Used domain buying service Marksmen to acquire the domain name cAutomotive.com via BuyDomains for an undisclosed sum. The domain has transferred to CSC Corporate domains. Manheim.com did announce that Cox Enterprises formed Cox Automotive. The move brings together Manheim, AutoTrader.com and Kelley Blue Book. I guess cAutomotive.com could be considered a typo of CoxAutomotive.com and could be the likely reason behind the purchase.
They do not currently own CoxAutomotive.com, which is owned by a company in Austin TX by an auto mechanic, but some indicators show they may have purchased the domain, even though whois currently isn’t show it.
ABC, Inc.
Registered the domain name GreySloan.com . This is relating to the popular TV show Grey’s Anatomy. The “hospital” was once named Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital and renamed the hospital after Lexy Grey and Mark Sloan were “killed” in a plane crash. This took place in 2012.
Disney Enterprises, Inc.
Has purchased the domain name ZoomOnEarth.com from BuyDomains. The domain was listed for $3,288. Escrow took place via DnEscrow, which is owned by Afternic/GoDaddy.
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
Very likely registered the domain name TrustedGifter.com at Hover (Tucows) on 10/2/2013 and has now revealed via whois that they registration was Walmart.
Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.
Has registered the domain names SmartMeasurePro.com, StanleySmartMeasure.com and StanleySmartMeasurePro.com likely for a new product.
DirecTV
Registered the domain name YaveoByDirectv.com on 8/15/2014 and has purchased the domain name Yaveo.com from HugeDomains.com (for around $4,000 if I remember correctly), HugeDomains registered Yaveo.com in March 2014.
DirecTV is likely getting ready to launch the product as they have set domain servers to Amazon hosting but the domain doesn’t resolve yet at the time of this article.
Amazon
Has registered the domain name AmazonFlame.com which fits in-line with its “fire” brands. The domain was registered before under whois privacy and expired on 7/3/2014.
Bayer AG
Registered the domain names, ItTakesARealMan.com and RealMenSpeakUp.com . They also added in -us with the same terms as domains, like RealMenSpeakUp-us.com
Apple Inc.
Which purchased the company PrimeSense for about $345 Million in November 2013 has transferred in the domain name PrimeSense.com to “Apple Inc.”. The domain does not currently resolve. PrimeSense is a 3D sensor firm.
Societe des Produits Nestle S.A. (Nestle)
May have purchased the domain name ChangeIsBrewing.com or worked with MindFlint Media (they owned the domain prior). Either way, the domain is now shown as owned by Nestle and they appear to be getting ready to use it in some way.
Saltwater.com
A domain name that Gary Chernoff appears to have sold around January 7, 2014 when the domain transferred to domain registrar SafeNames under general whois data, is getting ready to launch a site. This will also likely reveal who the buyers are. I wasn’t able to dig up a sales price, but I’m sure it was a nice amount.
Microsoft
According to whois records FaceSignal.com has transferred over from VideoSurf, Inc. Microsoft purhcased the video search engine for around $70 million in late 2011. Rexee.com was another domain owned by VideoSurf that transferred in.
Heidi Klum
The model appears to be getting ready to launch some products bearing her name. Several domain names like HeidiByHeidiKlum.com, HeidiKlumIntimates.com, HeidiKlumMan.com, HeidiKlumMen.com, HeidiKlumSwim.com and HeidiKlumSwimwear.com were registered.
The acronym versions were also registered like HKIntimates.com, HKMenSwim.com, HKSwimwear.com for an example.
Target Brands Inc.
Appears they want a piece of the mobile wallet business and registered the domain name TargetMobileWallet.com
CVS Pharmacy
Registered a large amount (80+) typo domain names to its CVSHealth.com domain name it already owns. It was announced that they would be changing cororate names TO CVS Health and the likely reason behind all of the registrations. The real winner in all of these domain registrations was the registrar, MarkMoniter!
Unknown
A currently unknown company has purchased the domain name LetsConnect.com for an undisclosed amount.
PepsiCo, Inc
Registered the domain name FreeNewTruck.com . Yes please!
