Welcome, this is Domain Movers. We focus on corporate domain name transactions and report on these findings. Here are the latest movements detected over the past 24 hours:
Blackberry, now under TCL Communications has launched a new phone called KEYone. In doing so, the company has launched an advertising campaign for the KEYone using the tagline: Do More. Different. That tagline is actually important to own as a domain name due to the amount of focus on it. Sadly, the company didn’t even invest $12 into the available domain name DoMoreDifferent.com. Similar length, message etc. by other companies see much more value in these taglines as domains! GetStuffDone.com for an example, sold for $40,000! Although GetStuffDone.com is a better domain than DoMoreDifferent.com IMO, I’d still invest $12 to own it if I were Blackberry and I’d use it. I even considered registering it, just because. Blackberry also does not own KeyOne.com, another mistake.
Crocktober.com has been acquired from its past owner by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since 2008.
Anheuser-Busch, LLC registered two new domain names, this time: BudFearless.com and BudweiserFearless.com.
McDonalds is using the domain name McDeliveryAtMcDonalds.com (sorry I just puked in my mouth). I don’t care how much it would have cost, McDelivery.com was the best, easiest to remember domain name they should be using for this effort, period! Get real MCD! They are spending big bucks to promote this effort. Interestingly enough though, McDelivery.com has been registered since January 22, 2000 and is owned by a delivery company from Tacoma, Washington. M C Delivery, which has been in business for 85 years (1928), which is much longer than McDonald’s Systems, Inc. which was founded April 15, 1955 by Ray Kroc. McDelivery is using UBER Eats via UberEats.com (Uber Technologies, Inc) and the UBER Eats app. Either way, McDelivery would be best promoted with McDelivery.com IMO!
TruGreen has acquired TrueGreen.com from Go Local, LLC of Overland Park, Kansas. The domain has been registered since April 1997 and owned by Jason Barrett since September 2012. TMP Directional Marketing, LLC owned it prior according to whois records.
This was a wise buy for TruGreen, simply because of the “radio test”, with the brand name sounding like True Green. Some goes for email, for those that add the e.
BitcoinCash.com has been sold and just moved into escrow at Sedo. This is after BitcoinCash.org was reported sold for $50,000. Sales price and buyers are not currently known due to it being so early in the transaction.
Collabria Financial Services Inc. has registered a slew of Flex Rewards domain names in gTLD’s and other TLD’s like FlexRewards.org, .biz etc. FlexRewards.com is currently for sale for $20,000 on Afternic.
Vrse which announce $12.56M in funding in 2016 and rebranded at that time to Within, just grabbed another round of funding, this time $40M more! When the company was Vrse, they used Vrse.com. With the rebrand, they are using a domain hack, With.in which is the ccTLD for India. Although “cool” and it fits in some ways with the name, it’s a really bad idea to use a domain hack IMO with so much focus on exact match .COM domains to trusted companies and brands. It’s just natural and people simply assume a company the size of Within will be Within.com. Not only for web visitors, but also vital email communication.
Qualcomm Incorporated actually owned Within.com until around June 2014 time frame, prior to going into whois privacy and a website launched (which appears to be outdated currently).
GetCoinSight.com was registered by John Hancock Life Insurance Company. CoinSight.com is parked with Sedo currently but not listed for sale. The domain did move to whois privacy on July 9, 2017 and has potentially sold.
JDStore.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since March 1996 and was owned by JD Pacific Rim Inc. prior.
Thanks, Jamie. A lot of us would love to know, or have some idea about, how much BitcoinCash.com went for…so if you discover that via your great detective work, please share!
@Gene,
I will keep a look out for the sales price on BitcoinCash.com. At this point, I’d expect it to be higher than the $50K that the .org sold for. Whois does indicate that it potentially changed ownership around the time of the .org sale, and this is the second time it sold recently.
Really enjoying having this back on a regular basis Jamie. A great resource.
Well it’s registered now… Creation Date: 2017-07-28T12:13:08Z
This is great info, thank you
