The other day when I was digging some information on the DomainNameSales.com’s Q2 sales reports I ran into a meta description on one of the sold domain names and it really grabbed my eye! I didnt’ think much of it at the time, but later in the day while I was sipping on a bottle of Miller Lite, that little bulb got brighter in my head and made me ring up Google again to see the search engine listing for the domain.
You found ELNK.com, so will your customers. It’s a great label for your website and will help you define your identity on the Web.
Leave it to the domain master Frank Schilling to come up with that! I have always thought that your Title and Meta Descriptions used in search engines are a great place for your first sales pitch to sell your domain name! Using a meta description like this I think can help you!
Now I’m not loving the Title at all, but let us all keep in mind that the Title is running off a parking page. I wouldn’t use a similar title.
I would fill that title in with keywords relating to your domain. Like:
Title: The Best Drone Domain Available | Drones.com is For Sale
Meta: You found Drone.com, so will your customers. It’s a great label for your website and will help you define your identity on the Web.
I am starting to work on some simple “Domain For Sale” type landing pages and I will be using something like the above for the Title and Meta. I am build 3 variations of my domain for sale lander’s so I have options as to what to put on what domain. I will likely give you a sneak peak when I have those ready but I wanted to share about the meta description.
Thanks for sharing, would like to see an example of your lander page when finished! I’ve been thinking about starting my own landers also.
