Here is the latest list of domain name registrations and purchases by large companies in a series I like to call DotWeekly Discoveries that is powered by DomainIQ.com . These are often very early discoveries that companies are registering and buying domain names for future products, services, advertising campaigns and countless other reasons. Here we go!

Twitter Inc.

Registered the following domain names: PoweredByTweet.com, PoweredByTwitter.com and PoweredByVine.com

Gap (Apparel) LLC

Has purchased the domain name LetsDoMore.com on or about June 27, 2014 for an undisclosed amount. They are likely getting ready to use the domain very soon.

HLT Domestic IP LLC (Hilton)

Purchased the domain name PickMyRoom.com on or about June 10, 2014

Unstopables.com

Has been sold and the current buyer is unknown according to whois… but P&G is a likely buyer because of its Downy Unstopables product.

ListPlus.com has been recently purchased by an unknown buyer. ListPlus.info and ListPlus.biz were also registered on 8/15/2014 by CSC Corporate Domains.

BrandNews.com

Has been purchased on behalf of a currently unknown MarkMonitor client.

Reckitt Benckiser LLC

Has purchased the domain name MegaRed.com

American Girl, LLC

Has purchased the domain name BeForever.com, likely around 8/27/2013 and Mattel has been using it in some manner since. The domain forwards to AmericanGirl.com and appears to be related so a girls doll.

Facebook, Inc.

Has revealed they were behind the 8/21/2014 registration of the domain name InternetDefensePrize.com and appear to be launch a website on the domain name very soon.

WOOX

Has registered the domain name TheTastyNote.com

ApprenticeshipJobs.com

Was purchased on behalf of CSC Corporate Domains, likely for a client that is currently unknown right now. The domain was first registered in September 2004 and was parked and registered with Fabulous.com

Vox Media, Inc.

Appears to be gettting ready to do something with the domain name TheNext.com which was purchased from Marchex about 9/16/2011. SBNation.com was listed as the “owners” after the purchase, and Vox owns SBNation.

TeleTech Holdings, Inc.

Was behind the purchase of Humanify.com, a domain name I mentioned in an earlier article that the buyer was unknown.

Johnson & Johnson

Registered the domain names GetBackSooner.com .net and .info

Pepsi

Registered the domain name SnackShareSave.com and DoritosTicketOffer.com

Johnson GmbH

Has purchased the domain name Jobse.com from TradeNames.

VeriSign, Inc.

Has registered the domain name CakesForDinner.com

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

Appears to have purchased the domain name RealHeroesProject.com . The domain was shown in whois as being owned by Fenton.com, so there is potential that Warner Bros may have been working with them in some way? Hard to say, but whois now shows Warner Bros as the owners.

It should be noted that quite often the domains that companies register or even buy in the aftermarket are not the types of domains that domain investors would normally think to acquire for investment. They are quite often the type of names one would find in expiring drop lists that would not even get registered by anyone other than a newbie.
