Welcome to the latest Domain Movers where DotWeekly focuses on corporate domain name transactions and reports the early findings to you! These transactions often lead to new brands, products, services, advertising efforts and more by companies.
The following are movements detected over the past 24 hours!
Mattel-Mega Holdings US, LLC has acquired ScribbleStuff.com from HugeDomains. The domain held a $1,995 purchase price and has been registered since 2013.
Prologis of Denver, Colorado has acquired LastTouch.com at domain name aftermarket service Sedo. The domain name was parked with Voodoo at the time of the sale. The domain sold for $4,000 USD.
Von.com has had some activity on the domain name. It was owned by Virgo Publishing Inc. (Informa) and registered at corporate provider SafeNames but the domain has since transferred to domain registrar Name.com and name servers have since changed to DreamHost. The domain holds potential that it sold. Virgo also owns Von.net and that domain remains at SafeNames, as do the 300+ other domains owned by the company.
Beachbody, LLC has acquired ShiftShop.com which was for sale on Sedo. Beachbody owns over 11,000 domain names.
BoaterConnect.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client.
LightAir Holding AB has acquired LifeAir.com via Sedo and the website is live already, which appears to have been LightAir.com prior. The website states they are a young Swedish company. If this was a rebrand of sorts, it was a good move!
Marksmen has acquired OpalHouse.com for a currently unknown client, with the domain transferring into CSC Corporate Domains.
Real Estate Hero Group Pty Limited has acquired EasyAgent.com out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio.
Prytania Group has acquired Prytania.com at domain aftermarket service Afternic in an upgrade domain purchase. The domain is currently redirecting to PrytaniaGroup.com.
OFO.com appears to have been sold by Telepathy, Inc. as whois records have changed.
Hearst Newspapers, LLC has acquired TexasInc.com. This domain was acquired by CSC back in January 2016 out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio but Hearst is just now showing up in whois records.
BoldBrands.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client.
Energizer Brands II, LLC has taken ownership of RefreshYourCar.com, which was owned by Handstands.com prior and displayed as a brand on its website. Handstands.com also transferred ownership. According to a press release in May 2016, Energizer acquired Handstands for $340 million and is the reason for the domain movements.
7P.com has been sold by United Online Web Services Inc. and is the 5th recent 2 character .com domain they sold! Prior sales I detected were: 3H.com, i8.com, 9F.com and 5U.com. It appears they only have 1 remaining, 4T.com.
Axel Springer SE has acquired FoodBarn.com via Sedo for $17,500 EUR. Axel Springer is a digital publishing service in Europe and is a publicly traded company.
Laxmi Organic Industries Ltd. has acquired its EMD, Laxmi.com for $16,000 USD. The company is currently using LaxmiOrganic.co.in, so this will be a big, global domain upgrade for them.
Upgrade.com has been acquired by Lending Club founder Renaud Laplanche for a new lending startup, called Upgrade. The domain was owned by Sitel Operating Corporation prior. The transaction appears to have taken place about January 4, 2017 when whois switches to Upgrade, Inc. I did chuckle at the email address used in whois, which was a gmail address and used “NewDomain2017”. The company has $60 Million in funding according to TechCrunch, so they could afford to go premium at launch!
As always, your blog is the must-read source.
It helps so much in optimizing/improving one’s portfolio.
FoodBarn and Laxmi went too cheap, IMO.
