Welcome to another round of Domain Movers, where DotWeekly keeps track of corporate domain name transactions and reports the findings to you. This give you a great idea of what companies are buying and likely for what. A new upcoming brand? A new advertising message? New marketing campaign? New product? The domains are almost always tied to one of the mentioned!
Here we go with the latest movers, which are often early detection’s and often the first time they are being announced:
Spil Games registered the domain names Valerian-Game.com and ValerianGame.com
PlayBreach.com/net/org and WorldBreach.com/net/org were all registered by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client.
CurlBar.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain appears to have had an offering price of only $875.
C&A Global, a marketing company, has registered several domain names which appear to be for the client Polaroid. All the domain names relate to PolaroidHoop.com (and several typos) and also point to HoopSecurity.com. New security camera by Polaroid? The company did announce in 2013 a security camera line. C&A Licensing was mentioned in that article and may be related to C&A Global.
Savr.com has been acquired by SAVR AB out of GoDaddy’s NameFind domain name portfolio. To note, almost all of the 4 letter domains that I have seen in the portfolio, hold a five figure offering price.
AbbVie Inc. has acquired VirtualSpeak.com from HugeDomains. The domain held a modest purchase price of only $1,695 US.
Amazon Technologies appears to have registered the domain names WickedlyPrime.com and AmazonWickedlyPrime.com at GoDaddy on February 12, 2016 under privacy protection (to hide the registrations) and has since transferred both domain names to MarkMonitor displaying Amazon as the owners in whois.
AstraZeneca AB registered PropellingScience.com adding to its domain name portfolio of other 9,300 domain names.
London Stock Exchange acquired Frank Russell Investments in 2015 and has sold it 1 year later to TA Associates. Russell.com is included as an asset after acquiring the company’s asset management business. That domain has showed some movement moving back and forth from LSEG and Frank Russell but whois hasn’t changed away from LSEG yet. There has been DNS changes though, along with about 100 relating domains.
Tucows pulled the domain name Hoy.com out of the MailBank offering and has listed the domain name for sale via the Uniregistry system.
GoDaddy has sold the domain name Pretest.com, which had a $10,000 buy now offering price. Registrant email address shows Dose.com as the owners, Talha Basit.
Ande.com appears to have been acquired by Stone Ward, a creative agency? The domain was owned by automotive dealership Ande Chevrolet in Indiana, which appears to now be called Kelsey Chevrolet.
International Data Group, Inc. has acquired AiInsider.com.
Powches.com has been acquired on the drop by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The domain was registered at GoDaddy and expired in September 2016.
Lincoln Financial Group has acquired Sagemark.com, which has been registered since 2007. The domain was parked with Bodis prior to being acquired.
Lenovo Beijing Limited (Lenovo) has acquired ThinkSystem.com with the help of The Treadstone Group. The purchase took place in early October 2016. Lenovo uses terms like ThinkPad (own the .com EMD) and ThinkVantage (do not own the .com EMD) so this term fits in with what they do with those.
Terrific.com has been acquired from Terrific.IT LLC via Escrow.com and appears at this point to have been acquired by a domain name investor. The domain transferred from GoDaddy to Uniregistry under privacy. The domain has been registered since December 5, 1995.
HeroVault.com has been acquired on the drop by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The domain expired in early September 2016.
Worldwide Industries acquired the domain name TalentAudition.com at domain name aftermarket service Sedo. I was not able to find a purchase price currently.
Nice work!
