Here we go with the latest digging for company domain movers from some of the largest companies and related domain names they recently registered, purchased or are simply moving around for some reason. DotWeekly continues to break a lot of news within these articles, so if you like fresh, interesting data, welcome!
Slate.com
Slate has registered the domain names WashingtonFootballTeamFacts.com .net .org and has already launched a website on the .com . This is interesting, because I wrote this article
which Slate later used for this story and then registered the domains.
Time Warner Cable Enterprises LLC
Registered the domain names DebugYourDay.com .net and .org
They also registered several “merger” domains like TimeWarnerMerger.com, TimeWarnerCableMerger.com and TWCMergerInfo.com . Time Warner and Comcast agreed to a merger in early 2014.
In total, the cable company owns about 2,500 domain names.
Curtiss-Wright Corporation
Registered the domain name FarrisRuturns.com
The Curtiss-Wright Corporation is an American diversified product manufacturer and service provider to various industries, principally aerospace manufacturing and the energy industry.
Farris Engineering, a business unit of Curtiss-Wright Flow Control, today announced it has entered into an agreement with a respected marine valve sales and service company, JA Moody,
designating them as the Farris Engineering sales representative to the U.S. Navy and commercial marine markets. This likely relates to the domain registration, but that was announced in
December 2013, so it’s hard to say.
MarkMonitor Client
MarkMonitor registered the domain name GetReactionApp.com likely on behalf of a client. The word “get” is often used with app related domains… at least until they get some good funding
and then the start-ups often try to purchase and exact match .com domain.
ReactionApp.com is registered at Tucows Hover.com but under privacy protection. That domain is owned by Farmatotum. Reaction.com is owned by Kenneth Cole Consumer Direct, LLC which offers
clothing.
Another MM client registered the domain name set of 3 popular TLD’s with LoveStartsWithin.com .net and .org .
Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.
Registered the domain name PatentChallenges.com . This domain name was registered before but expired on 9/11/2013 via GoDaddy and was removed from the registry. Prior, the domain name was
parked using CashParking for many years.
Central Technology Services
Registered the domain name RamsChecking.com
The role of CTS is to provide centralized banking operations, data and voice communications, technical support and data processing for all of the Central Bancompany affiliate banks.
First National Bank Of St. Louis does offer “Rams Checking” and this is the likely reason behind the registration.
Gordon Food Service, Inc.
Appears to have acquired the domain name ConnectMobile.com on or about 3/19/2014 from CodeCo IT Inc. for an undisclosed sum. I didn’t expect a “food service” behind this purchase but the
domain can clearly but used for just about anything.
NFC (Warner Bros?)
MarkMonitor appears to have acquired the domain name WbPlay.com for an undisclosed sum on behalf of it’s client.
“Join WBPlay to gain access to exclusive bonus content in different games by WB Games. If you have a WBID (Warner Bros. ID), you’re already a member!” So Warner Bros was likely behind the
purchase.
The domain name was very likely purchased using a secret buyers email address as I have seen the [email protected] email used before. EndlessRunway.com was another domain the email address
was used on and that domain later shows “AE.com” as the owners. The email address was also tied to the name “New Fizz Corporation” which helped secure the domain SYSY.com
That explains the “NFC” acronym. I found Rudolph.com which dates all the way back to 7/9/2003 that holds the New Fizz Corporation name and still holds the NFC name today. So they stopped using the long form and simply use NFC but still appear to use that email address.
Dole Food Company, Inc.
Has launched a website on DoleRewards.com . The website appears to be just starting out as there is a logo and a login box.
Amazon Technologies, Inc.
Registered the domain name Amazon-Messaging.com on 7/24/2014 and set domain name servers for it using it’s own hosting… interesting, AmazonMessaging.com was registered on 7/26/2014 via
eName.com and likely not by Amazon.
Why they would register the hyphen version of the domain and not the non-hyphen domain…. now they will likely have to use legal to obtain it if they want it. Amazon offers a couple
different messaging services SNS and SQS.
WOOX Innovations Limited
Registered the domain name LoudJam.com . Gibson had recently purchased Woox and Woox offers the Philips brand.
UK Government?
Has registered several domain names like WelcomeToGreatBritain.com and .org
Anheuser-Busch InBev S.A.
Made me hungry and thirsty with it’s several domain registrations like BudAndBurgers.com, BudBurgers.com, BudweiserAndBurgers.com, BudweiserBurger.com and BudweiserBurgers.com . I have had “Beer Brats”
but is Anheuser going to make a beer soaked burger? Could be! Bud And Burgers has a nice ring to it!
Air Canada
Has purchased the domain name FlyRouge.com . The domain was listed for $20,000 from what I can see, and sold for $17,000 in a private transaction reported by DnJournal.com! The
domain was registered 11/08/2012 and was parked with ParkingCrew.
The domain had a change of ownership via whois records to a “Nataly Balladares” with the email address “[email protected]” of Lima, Peru on 7/29/2014 via Dynadot. “Dom-Pub” owned it
prior. Digging a little further, “Domain Publishing” of Australia is shown in whois records on 3/13/2013. A 4/13/2013 whois record shows Zulu Flights of Panama as the owner. A 9/15/2013
whois record shows “M Sicard” of Australia and the email address [email protected] . A 11/6/2013 whois record show “Dom-Pub” of Lima, Peru with [email protected] as the email
address as the owner, which stayed that way until the 7/29/2014 record of “Nataly Balladares”.
Why all the changes prior to the sale to Air Canada, I’m not sure but a domain broker may have been involved as I did see a forum posting relating to finding a broker.
Red Bull GmbH
Very likely purchased the domain name Bergwelten.com from TradeNames.com for an undisclosed sum. Bergwelten appears to be a mountain.
Markit Group Limited
Registered the domain name LimitHub.com
Hasbro, Inc.
Registered the domain name SuperEasyMaker.com , likely for an upcoming toy.
Mattel Inc.
Registered 7 domain names relating to “Toddler Toys” like ToddlerToys.net and several hyphen versions like Toddler-toys.com both in singular and plural versions. Mattel does own
ToddlerToys.com, so this may be an indication that they will be doing something with the ToddlerToys.com domain.
Barclays Bank Delaware
Registered the domain name AppleRewardsCard.com . Barclays appears to offer a couple different “cards” like the iTunes Rewards Visa Card and a “new” Barclaycard Financing Visa card which
is pushed as “instant credit” directly on Apple.com
Pfizer Inc.
Registered the domain AdviseTheQuit.com
Allergan, Inc.
Registered DistributorPartners.com
Progressive Casualty Insurance Company
Registered the domain names DriveSafeDay.com and DriveSafeTodayDay.com
Trinity Mirror Digital Media Ltd
Registered the domain GovAnnounce.com
Corp New Ventures Services
Purchased the domain TheConsultativeApproach.com via Afternic
Very likely sold domains
DigitalAudience.com
GoRacing.com
DestinationLove.com
AfternoonTea.com
MasterGen.com
GrabDiscount.com
Interesting stuff.
Thanks, Jamie!
