Here are the latest Domain Movers, which focuses on corporate domain name transactions that would often go unpublished otherwise.
The following is a small sample of what occurred in the past 24 hours:
Biofarma registers the domain name Bisopril.com adding to its domain name portfolio of over 2,600 other domain names they own.
Liberty Mutual Insurance Company registers the domain name HelloChaser.com, adding to its domain name portfolio of over 4,800 domain names.
AOB.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain name was listed for sale using Uniregistry / Domain Name Sales platform. The domain was listed on Afternic as well, with a $150,000 minimum offer amount.
Marksmen has assisted a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client acquire Labellum.com for an undisclosed amount.
Quaker has acquired the domain name Oatober.com, a term they recently started using in advertising. Quaker Oats Company filed a trademark for the term on 4/12/2016. On 4/15/2016 the domain name was registered at GoDaddy by “Trnames Domain Name Services” which chases and registers terms recently filed TM’s for as domain names. I noticed this Trnames in whois records for another domain name recently, DirectPhysics.com which Microsoft Corporations filed a TM for on 9/28/2016. By 10/1/2016 Trnames Domain Name Services registered the domain name and has it listed currently for sale for $3,095. I did see at least 1 July 2016 WIPO case that Trnames lost and I could see potentially many UDRP’s / WIPO filings, since these domains are being registered after the TM filings.
Forward thinking is important, so shame on the TM filing companies for not thinking ahead and registering or buying the matching domains of the newly filed TM’s prior to the public data. People will always chase the buck, and I’m sure Trnames is taking the “You Win Some, Lose Some” approach with a minimum investment risk.
Oracle Corporation has acquired the domain name GreenGrade.com
Wandering WiFi, LLC has acquired AwareInc.com from HugeDomains.com for about $2,295
GoDaddy/NameFind sold a slew of 3 character .com domain names like 1MS.com, 2NR.com, 3MM.com etc. into the Chinese market, 50+ in one shot.
Thermo Fisher Scientific appears to have sold the domain name PGT.com, which appears to have been acquired by a domain name investor. The domain has been registered since 1992.
