Domain Movers keeps track of domain name assets being acquired by companies around the world. These early finds often reflect domain name upgrades, future marketing efforts, new branding for products and services and much here.
Here is a small sample of the latest detection’s over the past 24 hours:
ACN, Inc. has acquired ACN.com in a big domain name upgrade for the company, which has been using ACNinc.com for along time. The company is based in Concord, NC and offers telecommunications services. The transaction was handled at Afternic.com, for an undisclosed amount. (likely six figures) The domain was owned by Alpha Communications Network, with a Claude Apaid and gmail address listed as Admin, who is a co-founder of Alpha Communications. I reached out to both and neither replied for comment.
Bankers Healthcare Group has acquired InStaffing.com also at domain name aftermarket service Afternic.
K12 Inc. has acquired CareerTechnicalEducation.com from its past owners for an undisclosed amount.
Fish & Richardson P.C. has acquired Jasara.com which has been registered since November 1999 and joins the other 74 domain names owned by the company, one of which is FR.com, which they use as the companies main domain name.
Great Southern Rail PTY LTD. has acquired JourneysBeyond.com from BuyDomains.com. I had reported this sale in February 2018 but the buyers were unknown at the time. The purchase price is unknown, but I’d guess $4,888 or less.
Unum Group has acquired Umanity.com adding to the other 230 domain names owned by the benefit solutions company.
Branded Entertainment Network, Inc. registered several “Ben” related domain names, with the main focus “Ben Group”. BenGroupTech.com, BenGroupUSA.com, Ben-Group.net, BenGroups.net and the typo BenGraup.com. It appears they acquired BenGroup.com with the help of Corbis Legal in February 2016. BenGroup.com redirects to ben.productplacement.com
P&G continues moving domain name assets owned by the company. I have long been hard on the company for underusing its many premium domain name assets. Most didn’t resolve at all, some to old Sedo domain landing pages etc. It’s still unclear as to what P&G is going to do with them. Currently, name server movements from Savvis.net to Azure-dns.com is taking place on many, so things may be changing. Some generics from today’s movements include Toothpaste.com, Whitestrips.com, Dentures.com, Bodyspray.com, Bodywash.com and Cavities.com. Toothpaste.com for an example, redirects to Crest.com. It appears the domain name is using a server side redirect as Toothpaste.com is ranked in Google for an example.
ArtistToday.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client at Afternic.com. The domain name was owned by BuyDomains.com prior and has been registered since 2010.
Facebook Inc. acquired InsideFeed.com with the help of Hogan Lovells LLP. The domain name was acquired on the drop on March 30, 2018 via an enom registrar, so it was likely backordered on NameJet. The domain transferred on March 31, 2018 so there was not an auction. The domain was registered at GoDaddy prior, so it went through auction there first.
The Quaker Oats Company has acquired QuakerSquare.com from HugeDomains.com. The domain has been registered since January 22, 1999. HugeDomains acquired the domain name in an expired domain name auction on GoDaddy, around March 9, 2016 for an undisclosed price. The domain name held an offering price of $3,495 on HugeDomains.
Godaddy is moving a bunch of domain names off its NameFind.com name servers, to standard DomainControl.com name servers. The landing pages are Afternic landers with a contact form and phone number. The prior landing pages were similar, but different.
Marksmen acquired two domain names for currently unknown clients. Those were Arcosa.com and LeasePurchase.com. LeasePurchase.com had a $5,000 minimum offer amount at GoDaddy and 3 offers were made on the domain.
GoDaddy has sold Claire.com out of its domain name investment portfolio for an undisclosed but likely mid five figure amount. The domain just moved into escrow at Afternic, so the buyers are currently unknown.
URW.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client from Telepathy Inc. for an undisclosed amount. This was likely a six figure transaction.
Snowfox.com has been acquired by a Taesong Kim from Name Administration Inc. The domain name held a buy now price of $128,700 but the exact sales price is unknown.
Global Primex Ltd. acquired vLoad.com also from Name Administration Inc. The domain held a $27,300 buy now.
TDPlay.dk acquired ScreenBuddy.com also from Name Administration Inc. The domain held a $27,300 buy now.
Academy.com, which is owned and used by Academy Sports + Outdoors has transferred from Network Solutions over to brand protection service MarkMonitor. Good choice!
Google LLC. has acquired Flutter.net from its past owner for an undisclosed amount. Flutter.com is currently owned by The Sporting Exchange Ltd.
Golf.com has transferred to Network Solutions (along with several similar domains like GolfCourse.com, GolfRadio.com, GolfOnline.com and several GolfMagazine domains). The domains were owned by Time Inc., which sold Golf Magazine and its assets to Howard Milstein, chairman of Emigrant Savings Bank. The new companies official name is EB Golf Media LLC.
