This morning I noticed that CBS Interactive has taken ownership of many Comic Book related domain names that were owned by ComicBook.com, LLC d/b/a Pop Culture Media. CBS Interactive also took ownership of PopCulture.com, which was owned by Pop Culture Media.
ComicBook.com is currently in PendingTransfer status at Network Solutions, so I expect that domain to transfer to brand protection company MarkMonitor that is used by, shortly and also be owned by CBC Interactive.
PopCulture.com also recently transferred ownership to CBS Interactive from ComicBook.com, LLC’s ownership at GoDaddy, moving to MarkMonitor.
I wasn’t able to find any news stories on this in regards to the company selling but things appear that way.
According to the About Us page on PopCulture.com, “Pop Culture Media reaches more than 28 million monthly unique visitors (Google Analytics: March 2018) and 27 million social followers.”
ComicBook.com, LLC / Pop Culture Media was founded by Shannon Terry, who also founded and sold Rivals.com (Yahoo) and 247Sports.com (which was acquired by CBS Sports Digital) which Terry is currently CEO according to his LinkedIn page.
