AOL has been pretty secret about a new app they are about to release but I found some things, how they have been hiding etc but I figured I would share at least that they are getting ready to launch an app called Starlike.

eBates has acquired the domain name BuyNow.com from Rakuten. Rakuten purchased Buy.com in May 2010 for an estimated $250 Million and in January 2013 Buy.com was rebranded to Rakuten.com .
eBates appears to be getting ready to launch something on the newly acquired domain name BuyNow.com but currently only a Coming Soon message appears on the site.
Ebates Performance Marketing, Inc. became the owners of BuyNow.com on March 27, 2014 according to whois records.

Amazon.com has announced a new product / service today and it’s a Square / Paypal Local competitor. Local Register is the name given to the product which first appeared on Amazon’s website yesterday (8/12/2014).
