Domain Movers focuses on company related domain name transactions and reports these early finds to help you learn more about domain name assets and the businesses behind them.
This is a tiny sample of daily domain activity behind potential new brands, advertising campaigns, domain upgrades and much more. Here are the latest:
Nerdy.com has transferred into MarkMonitor. It appears the domain sold on flippa for $60,000 in 2016 and then transferred to Amazon’s registrar under privacy. A private tutoring landing page has been on the domain since around July 2017 and mentions “Nerds are supplied through Varsity Tutors”. So, I’m thinking Varsity Tutors is the owner.
FeelTheLove.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client from Name Administration Inc. I wasn’t able to find a sales price for this one but I expect it to be five figures.
J. Walter Thompson Company LLC has acquired NeighborhoodTeam.com, which held an offering price of $4,997. The company owns about 600 domain names total.
OES.com has been acquired by Online Education Services Pty Ltd. of Australia for an undisclosed amount. This follows an announcement for global expansion of the brand after further investment and owning the best 3 letter global .com domain name to do it, makes perfect sense!
DD IP Holder, LLC (Dunkin Brands) has put its DNKN.com domain name purchase to use and is redirecting the domain name to investor.dunkinbrands.com and providing stock and brand news to investors by using its stock ticker symbol. It appears they acquired the domain name in early 2016 based on whois history records.
APS BANK LTD. has acquired Reaps.com out of GoDaddy’s NameFind domain name investment portfolio for an undisclosed amount.
USDN.com has been acquired by a Kirk Nina and went on name servers of UsDailyNewsOnline.com.
Capsulate.com has been acquired by Capsule8.com in a potential domain name upgrade or simply a “cover” domain due to the “radio test” of Capsule8 sounding like Capsulate. The domain name held a buy now of $28,600 at the time of the sale.
Cabbage.com has transferred out of Afternic Escrow and confirmed my earlier speculation that Kabbage were the buyers. Kabbage Inc. is now listed as the owners of Cabbage.com in whois records. Cabbage.com is redirecting to Kabbage.com to cover the more common “sounds like” term vs the branded Kabbage.
Carrot.com which DotWeekly mentioned that recently cleared escrow at Escrow.com, EXPIRED at GoDaddy and is currently on an expired domain name auction. Current bid at the time I wrote this was $63,000. Priceless domain IMO but will likely end well into the six figure range. Interestingly, whois records didn’t change much from prior to going into escrow as the same registrant name, address etc remained after but the gmail email address did change after coming out, but was similar prior. August 19, 2015 is when the domain moved into escrow and exited 2/11/2018, 1 day prior to expiring on 2/12/2018. This would lean towards the domain was leased prior. Why would it expire? It’s hard to say but sometimes it’s just an oversight (didn’t get renewal email, expired credit card on file for auto-renew), death and more. Amazing domain.
Danfoss A/S has acquired TurboPack.com at Afternic.com for an undisclosed amount. The domain has been registered since 2005 and joins about 700 other domains owned by the company.
Advocate Health Care has acquired AAH.org from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc., who has owned the domain since at least 2007 (oldest whois history record), with the domain being registered since 2000. I wasn’t able to find a sales price.
FaceOfBeauty.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain was owned by BuyDomains prior and has been registered since 2004.
The Hut Group has acquired MySnacks.com from its past owner, who had the domain using Undeveloped.com. The Hut Group offers many brands in beauty, wellness, luxury and lifestyle. They do have several “My brands” via MyProtein and MyVitamins both on exact match .com domains in wellness. MYBAG brand on MyBag.com and many different brands like Zavvi, Coggles, BeautyExpert and more. The company does a fantastic job and has exact match .com domains for nearly all brands.
Thanks
Always love these posts Jamie.
Thank you!
Definitely some smart pickups for Kabbage and Capsul8 to get the known english spellings!
Also like the DNKN.com pickup pointing their stock ticker symbol to investor relations- if I recall both Godaddy (GDDY.com) and Intel (INTC.com) do the same.
Keep up the great work!
Mike
I convinced PLNT to do the same a few years ago before they did their IPO.
Nice info as always,Jamie.
“K”abbage instead of Cabbage. That’s always been a strange uphill battle, i.e. the sound alike alternative. Also problematic is using “4” for the word for, and “2” for the word to, or “U” for the word you. They fail the radio test.
