Welcome, this is Domain Movers! We keep track and focus on company related domain name transactions and report these movements to you. These are often very early detection’s, so we do not always know much about them or even what company purchased them.
These domains are often used for new brands, marketing, advertising and much more. Domain name assets are important to companies and sometimes the most valuable asset they own!
Here is a very small sampling of movements over the weekend:
Embrand were the buyers of the prior announced purchase of Resolution.com at Sedo for $50,000. This domain appeared to have been stolen and then later recovered by the seller as I explained on September 8, 2017.
Appboy, Inc. were the buyers of Braze.com that I mentioned sold on September 15, 2017. Marksmen assisted with the purchase and I’m sure the recent D round of funding of $50 million helped also ($95.1M total funding to date). Appboy is set to announce something on September 19, 2017, “our biggest announcement yet”. That just may include something called Braze…?
PDRtv.com has been acquired at Afternic for a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since 2002.
Caulis Inc. of Japan has acquired its EMD, Caulis.com at Afternic for an undisclosed amount. The company offers cloud based cybersecurity. The company is using Caulis.jp currently and is likely looking to expand globally, which the .com will greatly assist with this.
Amazon Technologies Inc. registered BuildOnAWS.com adding to the 44,000+ other domain names they own.
DreamWorks Animation L.L.C. registered the domain names ClassicMedia.co and a domain name that makes little sense IMO, ClassicMedia.media. I would understand Classic.media but not the double media.media. They also registered ClassicMedia.nyc. According to whois records, they do now own ClassicMedia.com, which is owned by a Tokyo Japan domain investor currently with the domain parked. They also registered ClassicMedia.biz.
PepsiCo, Inc. registered several “Bubly” domains. Those included BublySparkling.com, BublySparklingWater.com DrinkBubly.com, BeBubly.com and BublyWater.com. A UK resident owns Bubly.com, with the domain being registered since 2007.
LendingClub has acquired the four letter domain LCAM.com out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. I didn’t see an official sales price but I’d expect it to be low five figures.
MerchandiseAwards.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since 2007 and was acquired via Afternic.
Dell Inc. has acquired LiveOptics.com from HugeDomains.com for around $2,195
Bealls, Inc. registered the domain ChubbyMermaids.com adding to the other 125 domain names the company currently owns. The company does appear to own Bealls.com and actually uses it as a split screen universal landing page for the two different companies.
MatchWork World Wide A/S has acquired Brandero.com from HugeDomains.com via Sedo. The domain held an offering price of $1,695.
Starcheck BV has acquired its EMD from Name Administration Inc., Starcheck.com for an undisclosed amount. The company is using Starcheck.nl currently. Name Administration Inc. also sold Freemen.com but buyers and sale price are not known.
BeyondGame.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since 2013 and was parked with Uniregistry at the time of the sale.
Harman International Industries, Incorporated were the buyers of DareToListen.com that I mentioned sold in August 2017 but the buyers were unknown due to generic whois data.
Rey.com which was an expired domain auction on GoDaddy Auctions, ended for $50,499
Thanks for sharing!
It’s surprising to see REY.com expired and I won’t be surprised to see it gets renewed but will definitely be surprising if it doesn’t get renewed. LOL
