Welcome to Domain Movers! We track corporate domain name transactions and provide the data to you. Here are some latest domain names on the move, mostly all connected to the corporate world.
Walgreens registered a slew of “Walgreens Optical” related domain names, actually, all of them were typo’s. From my understanding, they do not offer an optical currently, just related products like contacts, reading glasses and contact solutions. Will they be soon offering optical services? WalgreensOptical.com was actually registered on Christmas, last year by a Chad Overman at GoDaddy.
Pepsi Co “finally” registers the domain name PepsiHalftime.com, likely relating the long running of the company sponsoring the halftime performance of the Super Bowl.
Scholle Packaging, Inc., with the help of NetNames, has acquired the domain name FourMountains.com from HugeDomains. The domain had an offering price of $2,790.
BeautyNow.com, which I mentioned in the last Domain Movers article as being sold out of the NameFind portfolio, was acquired by Greenberg Traurig, LLP, likely for a client?
Blue.com appears to have sold? While looking into Greenberg Traurig, LLP, they are showing up with a connection to Blue.com, which I know was for sale and being brokered. Blue was under privacy up until October 2016. Whois for blue is now showing James Currier of San Francisco as the owner. In 2006, Blue.com sold for a reported $500,000. Update: I have heard word that Blue.com was stolen, and recovered by Greenberg. Pomo, Mapper and Zazo potentially are connected? I did report on Twitter in September 2015 that Blue.com may have been stolen around that time, so it is unclear if the domain potentially has been stolen more than once or if the group of domains were stolen at the same time.
Pomo.com followed similar suit to Blue and is also now showing James Currier in whois records.
Mapper.com also appears to be recently connected to Greenberg Traurig, LLP. That domain also recently came out of privacy and is now showing the law firm. Zazo.com followed the same pattern.
FunNut.com appears to have been acquired by a currently unknown client of SafeNames.
AMGH.com has been acquired by Air Medical Group Holdings, Inc., which is owned by KKR. The domain name was listed for sale at Sedo, yet that listing remains, so it appears to have sold elsewhere.
AfterHoursGaming.tv is now showing Twitch Interactive, Inc. as the owners of the domain name and the website that once resolved on it, no longer does. It appears in some fashion that Amazon/Twitch acquired it.
Jobit AS has acquired the domain name Fronted.com via Sedo for an undisclosed amount.
Merck Sharp and Dohme Corp registers the domain name ItGoesWhere.com
The New York Times Company has taken ownership of the generic domain name VintagePhotos.com that has been registered since 1997 and was a full website prior by Vintage Photo Inc.
The Healthy Chef has done a domain name upgrade and has acquired HealthyChef.com from GoDaddy/NameFind. Although the companies business name is “The Healthy Chef”, the companies logo and common reference of the business and its products is simply Healthy Chef. The companies founder and director is Teresa Cutter, who made a wise domain name purchase by acquiring this domain!
Allstate Insurance registered the domain names DrivingStat.com and DrivingStatus.com
Callaway Golf Company registered the domain name PutterCompany.com
