Welcome to Domain Movers! DotWeekly keeps track of corporate domain name transactions and shares them with you. The majority of these would go unreported if we didn’t do the work. Today is a double dose as I ran out of time to share my findings for Tuesday.
Here is a sampling of the recent domain names acquired, registered and sold by many companies:
Several “soda” domain names were registered by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client and not in a positive way. StopBigSoda.com/net/org/info, TaxSoda.com/info and TaxSodaCA.com/net/info were all registered.
NIHC, Inc. (Nordstrom) has acquired the domain name HautLook.com. The domain name dropped in July 2016 and was grabbed by DropCatch.com. It is not clear if MarkMonitor was in the auction or not, but the domain name was acquired by Level2. The domain sold for $602 at auction on DropCatch.
Unilever Plc registered the domain name MySmileCoach.com adding to its domain name portfolio of over 8,000 domain names.
The Coca-Cola Company has acquired the domain name Fruitizer.com from SABMiller International B.V. (ABInBev). Beer to Soda… and a potential tongue twister resulting in Fertilizer? No current trademarks on the term by either company.
Pushstart SRL has acquired the EMD PushStart.com from GoDaddy/NameFind for an undisclosed amount. PushStart is an Italian Ferrari rental operation.
Netflix, Inc. registered the domain name AllYouCanThrill.tv. No other TLD’s like .com, .net or .org have ever been registered before and are not now at time of posting.
Agro-Hall Ltd. of Canada has acquired the domain name RoyalMeat.com. According to its website, they are one of Canada’s oldest and largest independent grain trading companies.
Google acquired Anvato Inc. in July 2016 and has now officially taken control over the domain name Anvato.com
Cars.com, LLC has taken ownership of DealerRater.com from DR Media Holdings, LLC. Cars.com acquired DealerRater also in July 2016.
eBay Inc. acquired SalesPredict also in July 2016 and they have now taken ownership of the domain name SalesPredict.com.
*pretty crazy the above 3 domain ownership changes all took place on the same day, all considering!
Guthy-Renker LLC has acquired the domain name Leviate.com from HugeDomains.com. The domain name had a purchase price of $2,395
Allergan, Inc. registered a slew of domain names relating to “Multi dose Restasis eye drops”, all under the whois generic “DNStination Inc.” data at MarkMonitor.
Uber Technologies, Inc. registered several Vocation VTC and VTC Announce domain names.
Pfizer Inc. registered the domain names VaccinesForFLBabies.com and VaccinesForFloridaBabies.com
Beachbody, LLC registered a slew of domain names relating to “YouV2”
Nortek, Inc. has registered the domain name BroanGroup.com, adding to its 500+ domain name portfolio.
Wonderful Pistachios & Almonds LLC has registered WonderfulStadium.com for a likely potential stadium naming rights?
Facebook Inc. registered FacebookVRTour.com adding to its 3,200+ domain name portfolio.
Best Western has acquired the domain name SureStay.com from Adam Strong’s company Strong Inc.
Baxalta/Shire plc has acquired generic domain name BleedingDisorders.com out of the GoDaddy/NameFind portfolio, with the help of NetNames (which was recently acquired by CSC Corporate Domains). The domain name is currently forwarding to BaxaltaHematology.com
Marksmen has helped a currently unknown client secure the domain names SmartLocation.com and .net from its past owner, Kurt Eto of Los Angeles, California. Both domain names have been registered since 2002.
DocuSign has sold the domain name xDTM.com to Virtual, Inc. The domain name is currently redirecting to xDTM.org and refers to Digital Transaction Management.
Haggle.com has very likely been sold by InfoSpace, which Media Options is brokering a large portion of its domain name portfolio. The domain has transferred out of MarkMonitor to GoDaddy under privacy.
Telepathy, Inc. has sold the domain name YFF.com, which appears to have went into the Chinese market of sorts. The registrants name is York Cheng of SHENZHEN SHI RUIFUKEJI YOUXIAN GONGSI and using ReorientGroup.com. So this is likely an end user, the main clients of Telepathy.
I am really suprised why Coca Cola bought Fruitizer.com but did not register Fruitizers.com ?
Doesn’t fully surprise me 🙂 as most companies have no clue when it comes to domain names, what to register, purchase or own for “protection” etc.
Now they acquired Peartizer.com so maybe a trend is starting… Fruit + tizer?
