Corporate Domain Movers: OneTalk.com, Alinity.com + More

Here are some of the latest domain name movers by large corporations that I detected in the past 24 hours:

ZocDoc, Inc. has registered the domain name UnsickDay.com / .net which recently expired. A little while back, they also registered several relating domains to Unsick Day, a term they have been using in advertising. Using catchy domain names in advertising is effective. VP of advertising, Richard Fine talks more about it here and I am a big fan of using catchy domains in ads that match the ads message.

GLO.org has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client, for an undisclosed amount.

Sihi.com was lost in a UDRP on July 12, 2016 and has now been transferred to the complainant, Flowserve Corporation. A couple quick hits from the transcript: Respondent was represented by John Berryhill. This was an expired domain that Flowserve had owned in the past but allowed to expire.  Flowserve had offered to purchase the domain for $10,000 prior to filing the complaint.

The domain was won at auction for $5,101 on NameJet in late January 2016.

Paramount Pictures is using the newly registered domain name WhyAreTheyHere.com to promote a new movie called Arrival. The trailer is coming 8/16/16 according to the landing page and will also be the digital home for the movie. The whois data is generic and registered with MarkMonitor.

Abbott Laboratories registers the domain name AlinityPro.com. Alinity.com interestingly was also recently transferred to brand protection service MarkMonitor at the end of 2015, so we likely know who the buyer of that is now. Alinity.com was registered since March 2001 and was offering an association management software.

Clairmont Avocats, which is a law firm that appears to be in France, has acquired the domain name Guerin.com from Tucows. The domain relates to a surname.

Verizon has acquired the domain name OneTalk.com out of the GoDaddy/NameFind portfolio. This was once a Marchex domain name. The purchase price is currently unknown.

The domain is already in use, forwarding to a business solution service called One Talk, “which connects your office phone to your mobile devices”. Verizon filed a trademark for the term on May 9, 2016.

Nine West acquires the domain name DenimNation.com from HugeDomains for about $1,795. The domain has been registered since 2011.
