FreeGames.com Domain Purchased By Flora ICT

The domain name FreeGames.com has been purchased by gaming site provider Flora ICT as announced in this TalkArcades.com forum posting from 7/25/2014.

Based on whois records, it appears the transaction likely closed and ownership of the domain name took place on 7/1/2014.

Paul Keever was the seller according to whois records. Paul appears to have owned the domain for sometime.

The heavily searched term Free Games is searched monthly at Google alone over 2.2 Million times each month and has been in the 3 Million range during several month of 2014!

I reached out to both the buyer and seller to hear each side of the purchase / sale story but sadly did not hear back from either! The sales price currently has not been shared publicly.

To note, MathGames.com was purchased in Aug 2013 for $725,000 and another highly searched term, CookingGames.com sold for $350,000. Bill Karamouzis had a hand in both of those transactions.

Free Games has a higher search volume than Cooking Games and in general is a more rounded domain not being so specific. FreeGames.com has the potential to rank with-in the DnJournal.com YTD highest domain sales of the year if it’s sale price is ever publicly reported.

  1. MediaOptions.com sold FreeGames.com – unfortunately like the majority of our end user sales it was private and under a non-disclosure agreement so I can not release any of the details.

  2. Probably one of the most searched 2 word keywords in the English language. The closest I have to that type of search volume is ChiaSeeds.com.

  3. In the June 7th MediaOptions newsletter, the asking price for FreeGames.com was $1.8M and on the Domain Sherpa show, Andrew stated, it sold for just under the reserve price.
