Welcome to Domain Movers, where DotWeekly keeps track of corporate domain name transactions and reports the early findings. I had a few glitches this week with some tools I use to detect movements, so this is a sample of a couple days of movers.

Amvac Chemical Corp. has acquired Simpas.com at domain name aftermarket service Sedo for $5,040 US ($4,500 Eur).

Plenty.co has been acquired by Marksmen, a corporate domain name buy service, for a currently unknown client.

Fusion Media Networks, LLC has acquired Roused.com with the help of CSC Corporate Domains for an undisclosed amount.

TheKitchenTable.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain was owned by Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc. prior. Frank also sold ChefPants.com, MathOnline.com and RoomReservation.com to other parties.

About.com continues to roll out new stand alone websites/brands and this time has launched TheSpruce.com on another EMD. About acquired the domain name via Afternic, from HugeDomains around October 2016. Prior new launches include VeryWell.com (health stie) which the domain was acquired with the help of MarkMonitor in February 2016. TheBalance.com (finance site) was also acquired via domain name aftermarket service Afternic mid May 2016. That domain was owned by GoDaddy’s NameFind. Lifewire.com (tech site) is another but this domain name has been owned by About for a long time, dating back to 2007.

CM.com has moved into a status of “OK” which likely indicates a pending transfer of the domain name. The domain was being offered for sale and Nameservers have updated to CM.nl . The domain has some interesting history to it, which Andrew from DomainNameWire.com covered in January 2015. CM Telecom is a potential buyer and the owner of the CM.nl domain name.

Racemap GbR has acquired EMD Racemap.com from Name Administration Inc. The domain name had an offering price of $19,000.

PeakAthletics.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client.

Glitch.com which was owned by Slack Technologies, Inc. has transferred to Amazon’s registrar under generic whois data. There is potential that this domain has been sold.

Sony has acquired ProudMary.com from BuyDomains.com. The domain has been registered since 1999.

Discovery Communications, LLC  registered the domain name WatchOWN.net. Oprah Winfrey Network replaced Discovery Health Channel and Discovery is part owner with Harpo of the OWN network. Oprah.com is the main website for the OWN tv network. It does not appear they own the .com domain. Watch OWN is a new app for the network.

Guthy-Renker LLC has acquired LoveItNow.com, a domain name that was acquired from HugeDomains. The domain  had an offering price of $2,295

MakeCode.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The domain was being offered for sale for $27,300 and was owned by Name Administration Inc.

HeartLogic.com appears to have been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. BarTalk.com followed suit.

BMT.com has been acquired by The Bryn Mawr Trust, Co. (BMTC.com) from Future Media Architects, Inc. The financial provider uses the BMT acronym and business name Bryn Mawr Trust. This is very likely a solid six figure sale.

Revenue.com has had some movement. The domain was owned by World.com and the whois for the domain has two different organizations in whois now. The newly added is Growth Brands Opportunity Group, LLC which was added as the registrant organization. Nameservers where also changed at that time.

Air Business Ltd. has acquired its EMD AirBusiness.com after using AirBusOnline.com via Escrow.com. The domain has been registered since 2003 and was for sale using Uniregistry.

Viveri.com has been acquired via Sedo by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client.

  1. watchown.net doesn’t sound like a solution for Discovery. If they don’t want Own.Live, fine by me I had no idea Oprah had a show…..watchown.net sure is convincing those who forgot to watch it’s still on.

  2. This is great news in that it appears the market for 2 and 3 word keyword domains has finally turned-up after being in a serious and long decline for years. It’s the first good indication I have seen. In addition, my own keyword domain inquiries have recently picked up steam. IMO, this time frame also marks the long overdue decline in the brandable domain market, which is about time as that market was clearly over-hyped and over-valued since about the same time keywords dropped in popularity.

  3. I can’t wait until you get to say “Bowel.com has had some movement.”
