Domain Movers highlights domain name asset transactions by companies around the world. These early discoveries often highlight potential new brands, domain name upgrades, upcoming advertising and marketing campaigns and much more.

Domain names are a businesses identity on the internet, email, word of mouth and more. They are very important and often times can be a companies largest asset.

Here is a very small sampling of some recent transactions detected:

SmartSpa.com has been acquired by  Jacuzzi Inc. with the help of CSC Corporate Domains client from its past owners. The domain name has been registered since November 2001 and was acquired at Afternic, out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio for an undisclosed amount. (likely $x,xxx)

AEM Technology Hong Kong Limited has acquired AemTech.com also via Afternic for an undisclosed amount.

GoodTime.net has been acquired at Sedo from its past owner. This follows the recent sale of GoodTime.com that DotWeekly reported the other day. XL Marketing of France is the buyer of the .com and the .net whois has not updated yet but I’d suspect that XL purchased both. Since they are a marketing company, its hard to tell right now if the domain is for them or a client.

Minetti spa of Italy has acquired its exact match .com domain name, Minetti.com which has been registered since 2002 by its past owners. The domain name was acquired at Sedo.com.

JourneysBeyond.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client from BuyDomains.com. The domain has been registered since 2004.

ConAgra Foods, Inc. registered TacoSeed.com and TacoSeeds.com adding to the 1,700+ other domain names owned by the company.

Scentsible, LLC were the buyers of Supernatural.com, which sold for $215,888 as reported by DomainInvesting.com. Scentsible are the owners of the popular PooPourri brand. Name servers have been set to CloudFlare, so it appears they are getting ready to do something with it. Based on a recently filed Trademark for Supernatural by Scentsible, it hints at what this is: cleaning related via body scrubs, body sprays, body wash, cleaning surfaces, glass cleaning, laundry detergent, deodorant, lotions

FleshBeauty.com  has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The transaction appears to have taken place about December 22, 2017 at eNom.

Optimize.Ad Inc. has acquired LoanAnalyzer.com out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio for an undisclosed amount.

Uber Technologies, Inc. has acquired UberAir.com from its past owners. The domain name has been registered since December 29, 2002. Uber didn’t waste any time and is redirecting the domain for the “Future Of Urban Air Transport” under the brand name Uber Elevate. Currently, this is a forward thinking service based on the white paper provided and focuses on Vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. To note, in the animation, UberAir is used for the icon in the app. Uber does own UberElevate.com as well and based on whois history, Uber acquired that domain around November 1, 2016 from its past owner.

Fossil Group, Inc. has acquired Misfit.net from its past owners, Name Administration Inc. The transaction appeared to use payments and either started around late Dec 2015 or early Jan 2016. The domain has been registered since October 1998. In November 2015 Fossil acquired Misfit Wearables, which uses Misfit.com. So this was a brand protection purchase, likely by Misfit Wearables.

Name Administration Inc. also sold SmartFiber.com which held a buy now of $39,000 to 412 Networks and OxygenDirect.com to an Albert Prast who appears to be CTO/CIO of Aerocare Holdings, which offers respiratory therapy and home medical services. The domain held a buy now of $27,300 but the exact sales price is unknown.

Spil Games Intangibles B.V. registered 3 new domain names which appear to relate to a new game. DemonBlaze.com, Demon-Blaze.com and DemonBlazeGame.com. The company owns about 700 domain names in total.

Facebook announced Developer Circles. In doing so, they are using a specific page on the sub-domain developers.facebook.com but since this is specific to “Developer Circles” it is a sub category off of Facebook.com. This results in a URL of: https://developers.facebook.com/developercircles/ That is a lot of dots, slashes, words etc. so getting somebody to remember that URL isn’t the easiest, it takes extra effort to explain on how to easily get there… so Facebook acquired the domain name DeveloperCircles.com, which is much easier to remember, its brand protecting and easily “redirects” visitors to the longer URL https://developers.facebook.com/developercircles/

Since Developer Circles is a plural nightmare, was it Developers Circle right? or was it Developers Circles? Developer Circle? Oh man, I forgot and so will others! The best thing is to cover ALL bases and register/acquire/own the most common typo potentials. DeveloperCircle.com, DevelopersCircle.com, DevelopersCircles.com etc. The first two are for sale for less than $2K each and DevelopersCircles.com is available for registration at time of writing, so Facebook didn’t do that but they should.
