Squarespace ran a 2017 Superbowl ad that rings a bell for domain owners with JohnMalkovich.com as the domain name story line but the funny thing is, JohnMalkovich.com isn’t even registered “with” Squarespace’s “official” domain registrar.

Technically speaking, Squarespace isn’t even a domain name registrar, like GoDaddy.com is for an example. Squarespace states it’s “official” registrar is Tucows:

Tucows.com Co. has sold the premium domain name Wait.com, which went into escrow at Afternic about September 10, 2016.

The domain name was part of the “Mailbank” domain name portfolio of about 17,000 domains Tucows acquired for $18 Million in 2006 from NetIdentity.

The sales price has not been disclosed and the buyers are currently unknown due to it being early in the sale. The domain was using DomainNameSales at the time of the sale.… Read the rest
