Domain Movers: Russ.com, Brightest.com & More

Welcome to domain movers with an added bonus of something new that I am doing, It’s A Domain Fact! The following domain names were detected to be acquired by large companies, moving for one reason or another and more! Here we go folks!

It’s A Domain Fact! Gmail.com has been continuously registered longer than the domain name Google.com . Gmail.com was registered August 13, 1995 with Google.com being registered September 15, 1997.

Brightest.com has been purchased by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain was owned by Alex Royf of Diagonal Axis Limited and has been registered since 1999. The domain name sold at DomainNameSales.com and was parked with them. It sold for $15,000

Apple Inc. registered a few domain names relating to Apple Pay Supplies:

applepaymerchantsupplies.com
applepaymerchantsupplies.net
applepaymerchantsupplies.info
applepaymerchantsupplies.org
applepaymerchantsupply.com
applepaysupplies.net
applepaysupplies.info
applepaysupplies.org
applepaysupply.com
wwwapplepaysupplies.com

Apple had registered ApplePaySupplies.com back on 2/3/2015 and appear to likely going to use that domain, mainly because of the wwwapplepaysupplies.com registration. Apple registers very few domain name compared to companies of its size, yet they own over 10,000 domains.

WhoWillYouBe.com has been acquired by a CSC Corporate Domains client. The transaction appears to have taken place about 1/30/2015 when the domain transferred to CSC from GoDaddy. The domain was owned by a Infinigen Technology Solutions and just had a default GoDaddy landing page. The currently unknown buyers have loaded the domain onto Amazon hosting servers but the domain doesn’t currently resolve yet.

Speakman.com has been acquired from Tucows and its “MailBank” by Speakman Company. The transaction took place on 10/30/2014 when whois records changed to the generic CSC Corporation Service Company, the registrar. The company uses SpeakmanCompany.com currently, but will likely start using the upgrade domain in the near future.

Russ.com has also been sold according to whois records by Tucows. The domain name has transferred to the domain name registrar NAUGUS LIMITED, LLC whos general managers name is Russ Goodwin. Russ.com currently resolves to Naugus.com, which has a bad SSL certification right now.

In June, 2006 Tucows paid $18 million to purchase Mailbank.com Inc – a company that owns over 17,000 domain names for common surnames like smith.net or brown.org. Mailbank generates income from selling advertising on the websites of the name-based domains and also from customers who want e-mail accounts with their surname as the domain according to Wikipedia.org

Currently, Tucows has about 34,372 domain names residing on the MailBank.com servers.

Pennies.com has been sold. The domain was owned by 8-Monkeys / Terri Pendleton and whois switched to Media Options / Andrew Rosner on 1/30/2015 and now whois shows Virtual Real Estate Limited / Oliver Hoger as the new owner. Media Options is a domain name broker and Oliver is a domain name investor.

AgilityStore.com has been purchased by a currently unknown company from HugeDomains.com for the likely $1,195 listing price. The domain is currently in Afternic Escrow, so the domain likely sold at Afternic.com. The domain was registered on 11/26/2012. The unknown buyers have also registered AgilityStore.net on 2/16/2015 and also AgilityStore.org.

MovieClips.com a domain name / website owned by Fandango who purchased it in 2014 has moved out of GoDaddy.com to CSC Corporate domains. One thing that I noticed in whois was a “CSC TFI in Progress”. The domain is basically in whois privacy now, but the whois for MovieClips.com is very similar to Fandango.com so I am not suspecting the domain/site sold again and it was just a consolidation of the domain to the same registrar used by Fandango, which is CSC Corporation Domains.

Amazon has registered the domain name AmazonStoryboards.com . Storyboards.com is owned by StoryboardsOnline.com / INTERACTIVE ART SERVICES
