Domain Movers: LikeAGirl.com, Lobby.com + More

Always LikeAGirl.com

Welcome, this is Domain Movers!

DotWeekly digs into domain movements with a focus on corporate domain name buyers and reports the findings to you. These are often very early transactions, so the buyers and purchase price are not always known. We try our best to provide as much information as we can with each.

A special thank you to DomainTools.com for providing exceptional domain research tools for us to use, to help provide these reports for you.

Lobby.com has been acquired by Braden Pollock of Legal Brand Domains, LLC from Blucora, Inc. MediaOptions has been brokering Blucora domains for awhile and Lobby.com wasn’t the only domain Braden purchased as it appears to have been a bulk purchase. iomo.com, KidsCorner.com, InBasket.com, HobbyBasket.com, GiantBear.com, ChristmasGreetings.com, ContactPage.com, Correspondence.com, DearMom.com, 1stYears.com, AprilFool.com, AprilFools.com, BirthdayGreetings.com, CelebrityMail.com, LoveLetter.com, MothersDayCard.com, PrivacyBank.com, PrivacyVault.com, ShopAndGo.com, ValentineCard.com and Web21.com all transferred to Legal Brand Domains from Blucora.

CSC Corporate Domains is always busy buying domain names on behalf of clients and this continued with DisgustingTruth.com, TheDisgustingTruth.com, Mongersen.com and Yqos.com

Tail Light, LLC (Taillight.com) has acquired TeenDrivers.com via Sedo for $8,200

The Dow Chemical Company has acquired MakeItLast.com. The domain was owned by Rodale Inc. prior and listed for sale by CSC Corporate Domains on Sedo. The domain moved into whois privacy at Dynadot in February 2017 and now comes out under Dow and transfers to MarkMonitor.  I have seen this type of movement many times in whois (moving to Dynadot under privacy) and appears to be a method to hide the potential of anybody noticing the purchase.

Penske Automotive has acquired PremierFinancing.com via Afternic for an undisclosed amount.

UrbanLegends.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since 1996 and transferred out of GoDaddy.

Procter & Gamble has acquired LikeAGirl.com for it’s #LikeAGirl branding of its Always brand. The domain has been registered since 1999 and was using SmartName parking prior to the sale. The ad campaign started in 2014 and also made an appearance in the 2015 Super Bowl and continues into 2017 without a sign of letting up.

LeafBySnoop.com has been acquired with the help of domain buying service Marksmen for a currently unknown client, but this appears to be a brand cover purchase for LeafsBySnoop.com.

Telepathy, Inc. has sold the domain name LYM.com to a currently unknown buyer, with the domain name transaction moving into Escrow.com.

Visivo GmbH & Co. KG have acquired TheaterSeating.com from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc.

CloverSecurity.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client from HugeDomains. DS48.com followed suit and also sold.

Oath.info has been acquired by AOL Inc. (Verizon) to continue its push for brand protection of its new brand name Oath. The Treadstone Group, Inc. assisted in purchasing the domain from its past owners.

Ring.com appears to be moving its domain name assets over to brand protection service MarkMonitor, which is a wise move. The company had/has its domain names at several domain name registrars (GoDaddy, Gandi SAS, NameBrew), which can lead to some slipping through the cracks. The company owns around 200 domain names.

Eco.org has potentially sold. The domain was under whois privacy protection at domain name registrar Moniker.com and has since transferred to Safenames. The domain name is now redirecting to Eco.com. Eco.com had transferred into Safenames as well in late 2016 from Network Solutions. New name servers have just been set for the domain, so it appears they are getting ready to do something with it. Both domains hold the potential that they were sold.

Gordon.org appears to have been sold by Tucows. The domain was part of its Mailbank offering but now shows ownership by Erik H. Gordon and The Gordon Group, LLC. of Miami Beach, Florida.

Vonn.com, another surname has been sold. This one was owned by GoDaddy’s NameFind.

PGA Tour, Inc. has taken ownership of ThePlayers.com, which a UDRP was filed on the domain name in May 2017. That UDRP was terminated. There was likely some sort of an agreement made between the two parties, which resulted in the termination of the UDRP.

MadeByDesign.com  has been acquired by Target Brands, Inc. from GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. Target has been an active buyer in the domain name aftermarket lately.

HearYourWay.com has been acquired by Cochlear Limited at domain name aftermarket service Sedo for $10,000.

Marksmen acquired two domain names for currently unknown clients. Those domain names were DiscoverWatches.com and GoodLifeBottles.com

Bdi.com, which was owned by Google Inc. prior and registered at MarkMonitor, has moved into whois privacy and transferred into Google’s domain registrar, using Google cloud hosting. The domain had been used by Boston Dynamics prior, which Google sold to SoftBank, so this may have been an included asset. Boston Dynamics uses BostonDynamics.com for its main domain name.

Kimberly Clark Corporation were the buyers of  TheDisgustingTruth.com and DisgustingTruth.com. Marksmen assisted in the purchase of both.
