Domain Movers: Heets.com, Breit.com + More

Domain Movers is a series on DotWeekly where we focus on corporate domain name transactions. These early findings often reveal future brand names, domain name upgrades, advertising efforts and more.

Here is a small sampling of detection’s over the past 24 hours. DotWeekly absolutely could not provide these reports without the domain research tools of DomainTools.com! DotWeekly uses many of its services to produce and research these movements.

DB Corp Ltd. has acquired FirstWall.com from HugeDomains.com. The domain has been registered since January 2013 and held a buy now price of $1,795.

Tinker.com which is owned by Glam Media Inc./Mode Media (which is no longer in business) is currently pending transfer. Most of the companies domain names are at the registrar Ascio Technologies, and Tinker.com is currently with Dynamic Network Services, Inc., so this movement may just be related to a registrar consolidation.

Since Glam/Mode are no longer in business, I wanted to research this further as the company owns many valuable domain names. I was able to find an article from June 2017 that mentions that BrideClick has acquired Mode Media’s assets. Mode Media Corp owns domain names like, Glam.com, Mode.com, Bliss.com and Ning.com (now showing Ning Interactive Inc. but it isn’t clear as to who actually owns it currently) to mention a few.

The Blackstone Group has acquired Breit.com from its past owner, Kelly Breit of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Kelly registered the domain name BreitStudios.com on June 16, 2017 potentially as a “replacement” domain? The Blackstone Group has a real estate income trust (REIT) with the acronym of BREIT, Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, which currently is using Bxreit.com (BX is the companies ticker) but the fund is referenced as BREIT and is the likely reason for the domain purchase.

Kelly has owned the Breit domain for a long time and I’m hopeful she has a nicer retirement fund now after selling her surname domain name. I reached out to Kelly to see if she could share any details and she stated: “I can confirm the domain name was sold through Big Horn Consultants (domain broker), however the terms of the agreement are confidential.” Big Horn Consultants are secret domain buyers used by corporations as DotWeekly has documented many times.

GoDaddy’s NameFind division sold about 15 domains. A couple of those include, WorkParty.com, Winnex.com, ToyChain.com, SuperWomen.com, SmartTraders.com, PrivateLenders.com, Reban.com and OnToIt.com.

ConstellationMedia.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain was owned by HugeDomains.com prior and was acquired on Afternic. The domain held a buy now of $4,595

Intercom France has acquired Intercom.org at domain name aftermarket service Sedo for an undisclosed amount. Intercom.io acquired Intercom.com in April 2016, which I noted here.

InaBox.com has moved into Escrow.com. The domain has been registered since March 1998.

The Sherwin-Williams Co registered AcquireSourcing.com and AcquireSourcingLLC.com for a currently unknown venture.

General Motors LLC registered ChevroletNext.com adding to the 4,000+ other domain names they currently own.

Heets.com has been acquired. The domain has transferred into CSC Corporate Domains from domain registrar Google. The domain was owned by a Bruce Heeter of Chicago, Illinois prior. Philip Morris International are potential buyers as they have a product called HEETS, also known as HeatSticks. This appears to be related to IQOS, which they recently acquired IQOS.com as I mentioned here.

FMR LLC (Fidelity) has acquired FDAS.com from Get On The Web. The law firm Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP were used for the transaction, which took place about May 9, 2017 according to whois history records. An April 2017 screenshot provided by DomainTools.com showed the domain name held an offering price of $20,950.

LPQ.com has been sold. The domain name was owned by Netico, Inc. and was parked with Sedo at the time. The domain was acquired by PQ Licensing S.A. according to whois records.

There will be no Domain Movers tomorrow as I am taking my wife and son on a small mini-vacation (camping) before school starts. So I’ll be deep in the woods drinking beer, roasting marshmallows and telling campfire stories with no computer.
