Domain Movers: Good.com, ShellCompany.com + More

Welcome! This is Domain Movers, where we keep track of what domain names companies are buying and selling and report them to you. Since we are coming off of a weekend, this report is a little light on volume but still contains many important domains to the companies who purchased them.

Federal-Mogul Corporation has acquired the domain name Jurid.com via UDRP. Federal-Mogul purchased Honeywell’s friction business in 2014, including the Jurid brand. Honeywell DID own the domain name Jurid.com but it expired in August 2014 via MarkMonitor and was removed from the registry in October 2014. The domain name was then grabbed on the drop by Pheenix and won by a Semi Jung of South Korea. A WIPO/UDRP was then filed by Federal-Mogul May 12, 2015 and won on July 31, 2015.

The 1998 trademark on Jurid did transfer from Honeywell to Federal-Mogul and stayed live.

Shame on Honeywell and or Federal-Mogul for allowing the domain to expire in the first place! The lapse was admitted in the UDRP: “Some time later and before the transfer of the disputed domain name to the Complainant, the registration for the disputed domain name lapsed. On October 16, 2014, the Respondent obtained registration for the disputed domain name.”

IMO, if the domain name was not parked (and displaying brake ads) after being acquired at Pheenix, it may have been much harder for Federal-Mogul to win via UDRP.

ThisWayForward.com has been acquired from HugeDomains by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain had a $2,195 purchase price.

Corporate Filings LLC has acquired the domain name ShellCompany.com from GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. This was a former Marchex domain name.

Good.com, which is owned by Blackberry Limited under the business Good Technology, Inc. appears to be moving out of Network Solutions over to brand protection service MarkMonitor. Blackberry houses the majority of its domain names at MarkMonitor. Good.com redirects to Blackberry.com but several sub-domains and more resolve to Good.com.

Bidpath Ltd. has acquired Pacts.com out of the GoDaddy/NameFind domain portfolio for an undisclosed amount. Bidpath recently acquired Pacts Auction Systems of the UK and has acquired the domain name for that business. The company was/is using Pacts.co.uk prior. Since Bidpath is a global company, the .com makes a lot of sense for them, since .co.uk can have a limited feel to it.

PersonalPlanner.com which sold for $43,000 by Mike Mann’s DomainMarket.com, was acquired by “personlig almanacka nordic ab” of Sweden.

GameWin.com has been sold for $35,000 via Sedo. The buyers are currently unknown.

Hydro-Electric Corporation has acquired the domain name Entura.com for $15,000 via domain name aftermarket service Sedo. Hydro-Electric Corporation is located in Australia and has a power plant called Entura, which uses Entura.com.au
