Domain Movers: Counter.com, Verified.com + More

Welcome to Domain Movers, where DotWeekly keeps track of corporate domain name transactions and reports the early findings to you. These findings are often early indications of new brands, products or services. They also can be domain name upgrades and much more.

Here is a sample of the latest findings:

P&G has registered several new Gillette domain names and those include: GilletteRefil.com, GilletteRefilClub.com, GilletteRefill.com, GilletteRefillClub.com, RealShaveClub.com and ShaveClubReal.com

Kraft Foods Group Brands LLC registered ShoutForNuts.com adding to the 1,900 other domain names they own.

FunNut.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client, coming into MarkMonitor from whois privacy at SafeNames but just prior was at GoDaddy and owned by an individual.

TF Global Markets (Aust) Pty Ltd. has acquired ThinkVPS.com, a domain that was using SedoParking at the time of the change of ownership. The company uses ThinkForex.com as its main domain name.

Microsoft Corporation registered HybridVoice.com, a domain name that recently expired and was using SedoParking name servers prior.

The J. M. Smucker Company registered FuelTheWag.com, likely for an advertising effort. The company owns the Big Heart Pet Brands, which includes many popular pet brands like Milk-Bone, Kibbles N Bits, Gravy Train, Meaty Bone, 9Lives and more.

One big fail for the company though, they use BigHeartPet.com as the main domain for housing its brands, and actually own BigHeart.com, but the domain does not resolve at all. At a minimum, the domain should redirect to BigHeartPet.com, but the reality is, they should switch to that far superior domain name! Smucker acquired the Big Heart Pet Brands company in 2015. I had wrote about BigHeart.com being acquired by then owner Del Monte Foods in August 2014.

Anheuser-Bush InBev S.A. registered SmartCassava.com, SmartMaize.com and SmartSorghum.com adding to the 1,400+ other domains they own.

OTG.com has transferred ownership from EMC Corporation to Open Text Corporation. Dell acquired EMC in a $60 Billion dollar merger that completed in late 2016. Open Text acquired Dell EMC’s ECD (enterprise content division) division, including Documentum for $1.62B. So the domain must have been included in the deal.

Disney Enterprises, Inc. registered GoodNewsIsHere.com, adding to the 20,000+ domain names they own.

Apple Inc. secured the domain name VirtueDB.com on the drop in early January after the domain expired. Whois was generic with corporate registrar service CSC Corporate Domains but has not switched to reveal Apple.

Counter.com has transferred from Network Solutions under privacy to SafeNames under privacy. It appears that SuperStats.com / MyComputer was the owner prior owner based on where the domain resolved to. Network Solutions owns SuperStats.com, so this would likely indicate the domain was sold.

SecurityNow.com was sold out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio to IIR USA, who is a SafeNames client.

X Studios, a creative digital agency has done a domain name upgrade and has acquired XStudios.com, also out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. The company was using XStudiosInc.com prior, so moving to the more common term they are known by, X Studios! Wise move!

CBS Radio Inc. continues to allow valuable domain name assets to simply expire. They allowed KSRX.com to drop, which then sold in an expired auction for $1,357. This time around, they allowed Z93.com to simply expire and dropped. Z93.com was grabbed by DropCatch.com, who also grabbed KSRX.com. The Z93.com auction is taking place now with a current high bid of $465 with over 2 days left in auction.

Hallos Consulting SS LTDA has acquired its EMD Hallos.com from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc. The domain name held a purchase price of $22,800. Hallos is using Hallos.com.br currently.

Verified.com has moved into escrow via Escrow.com according to whois records. The domain was owned by IT Media in 2014 and offered for sale at that time and then name servers switched to Amazon hosting and the domain moved into whois privacy. All of which remains now on the website that resolves today for Verified Network Inc. The domain either sold in 2014 and payments are finishing up and the reason whois is showing Escrow.com now OR, there is potential that Verified Network Inc. has sold the domain.
