Domain Movers: Bands.com, AutoDraw.com + More

Welcome! This is Domain Movers, we track corporate domain name transactions and report the early findings to you. The following domain names often relate to new brands, new products, new advertising campaigns, new services and much more.

Some big names in today’s list and this is only a small sample of activity over the past 24 hours:

Bands.com a true premium generic domain name has been acquired by Ash Avildsen, CEO of Sumerian Records. Sumerian is a record label and promotes bands, so the domain makes a lot of sense for him to own. The last time I checked, the domain name held a six figure minimum offering price, so its pretty safe to say the purchase was six figures. The domain name was owned by GoDaddy’s NameFind division and was acquired when they purchased the Elite Domains portfolio for over $40+ million.

I reached out to Ash to see if he is able or willing to share some details and the future plans for Bands.com.

Information Technology Partners, Inc. has acquired TrustedTech.com, a domain name that was listed on BrandBucket for $3,595.

Pepsico registered 4 new domain names, DewLoyalty.com, MountainDewLoyalty.com, MtnDewLoyalty.com and MtnDewRewards.com

Tablets.com, which was owned by domain name investor Aron Meystedt of XF Investments has moved to privacy at GoDaddy and has likely been sold. There is potential this was sold to another domain investor, as the domain is now parked with Uniregistry. In general, Aron doesn’t put his domains under privacy and the reason behind me considering this domain likely sold.

CEPTIV APS has acquired Typers.com at domain name aftermarket service Sedo.com.

Allegiant Travel Co. (Allegiant Air) has acquired FunSeeker.com out of GoDaddy’s NameFind domain name portfolio. The company owns about 15 domain names in total and this one is likely to be used in an advertising effort.

Google Inc. has acquired two domain names from different owners. AutoDraw.com, which was owned by eBizList, LLC and AutoDraw.net which was owned by Network Solutions New Ventures Services.

Stereo.com has been sold by Media Options for client Blucora, Inc. and this one appears to have went to a domain name investor. The domain transferred out of MarkMonitor to Uniregistry under privacy and name servers changed to ParkingCrew, which is a domain parking company.

Valentine.com has also been sold by Media Options for client Blucora, Inc. and potentially went to the buyer of Stereo.com, as the domain followed suit, transferring to Uniregistry under privacy and parked with ParkingCrew.

PlantarFascitis.com has been sold by Name Administration Inc. to The Center for Morton’s Neuroma and currently redirecting to PlFasciitis.com . The domain name held a buy now price of $45,600.

General Motors LLC has taken ownership of BuyPower.com. The domain was owned by an individual and whois moved to privacy in July 2016 with the domain transferring from Network Solutions to Fabulous.com. The domain has now transferred to CSC Corporate Domains and displays GM as the owners.

Arby’s Restaurant Group, Inc. registered the domain name OrderArbys.com hinting at online ordering? Well, kind of, because they already offer it, just on the sub-domain name Order.Arbys.com, so this is a good “cover” purchase for those who forget the . between the sub-domain and actual domain name. Now they just need to redirect the domain to the sub-domain, which they have not done yet. They can also use the domain in promotion, not confusing people with the sub-domain.
