Domain Movers: Aita.com, LocalMedia.com + More

Aita grading

Welcome to Domain Movers! We keep track of corporate domain name transactions and bring them to the forefront to help others learn and be aware of the high amount of activity around domain names and the importance of them to many businesses around the world!

These are often very early findings and not always a lot of information is available but we try to provide as much information as we can.

One thing you will notice in today’s article, 4 letter .com’s make many appearances! (7 to be exact)

LocalMedia.com has been sold by MagnetMedia.com to a Rusty Coats of Sarasota, FL who is the founder of Coats2Coats. Rusty is also the executive director of Local Media Consortium, which uses LocalMediaConsortium.com currently. So this looks like an end user upgrade for Local Media Consortium. I wasn’t able to get a sales price but was told that it was “a nice end user sale”.

Aita.com has been sold and acquired by GradeCam Corporation. The domain was registered at Fabulous.com under privacy and using Uniregistry’s lander at the time of the sale. There are a vast amount of other’s using the “Aita” term in some fashion and it’s a great name, so I expect this domain sale to be potentially high five or potentially even six figures.

Gradecam recently introduced Aita, which is a new Artificial Intelligence Teaching Assistant and the reason for the purchase.

Baptist Health South Florida, Inc. has acquired MiamiMedicine.com from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc.

The Sherwin-Williams Co. has acquired MySW.com from DomainShop.com for an undisclosed amount. The domain held a Make Offer option. On a side note, Sherwin Williams was presented the opportunity to acquire SW.com and they did not take advantage of it, which was a big mistake IMO. The companies main domain name is Sherwin-Williams.com to note. Prior, Sherwin Williams was using the awful domain name MyS-W.com for what they are using MySw.com now, so at least they upgraded that.

Torg.com has changed whois from Grot Investment Group, LLC with a gmail address and using the OnlineNic registrar and has since transferred into CSC Corporate domains under OLX Global B.V. with a Naspers.com email address.

Mondelez International, Inc. registered OreoMystery.com for a likely upcoming advertising campaign for the Oreo brand.

Wells Fargo & Company has taken ownership of WFAM.com with the domain transferring into MarkMonitor from privacy protection at Dynadot. Prior to that Dynadot privacy, the domain was registered at Fabulous.com and owned by a Star Smith. I have seen countless times, the transfer into Dynadot under privacy and later transfer to MarkMonitor, so this appears to be method of “hiding” the purchase for awhile.

Beachbody, LLC has acquired DailySunshine.com from Clare Josa, which was using the domain name for a book.

Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc. has acquired SDPA.com. The transaction appears to have taken place back in March 2017 but held generic CSC Corporate Domains details until now.

AcaiBerry.com sells at Sedo for $18,000 to a currently unknown buyer as the domain just entered escrow. The domain has been registered since 2005 and was parked at Sedo.

AVOS Systems, Inc. has listed the single letter domain name D.me for sale with MarkMonitor assisting and handling inquires. Q.me sold on Flippa in December 2016 for $7,500, which was the only other reported single letter .me sale listed on NameBio.com. MarkMonitor lists its clients domain names for sale here.

Google/Alphabet graduate Dandelion has graduated out of X (Google’s innovation lab) as a geothermal offering and lead by Kathy Hannun as CEO, while using Dandelion.co as its main domain name. It appears they acquired the domain around December 2016. The domain held an offering price of $6,000. Whois records display “Kathy Cooper” but hold Kathy Hannun’s email address. The domain is now under whois privacy at GoDaddy.

The Home Depot has acquired CelebrationOfService.com from HugeDomains. The domain held an offering price of $2,895 and has been registered since June 2013.

Octapharma AG has acquired Fibrema.com at domain name aftermarket service Sedo.com.

AudioCommunity.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client, also at Sedo.

AppSushi Pty LTD has acquired Naden.com also at Sedo. The domain has been registered since 1996.

Resi.com has been acquired by Altisource, which is an asset management company. The domain name was acquired at Sedo for a currently undisclosed amount.

VFMS.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain has been registered since 2008 and was registered at GoDaddy prior and listed for sale.

GoodLifeBottle.com has been acquired by Marksmen on behalf of a currently unknown client. The buyer is likely a water bottle maker.
