Company Domain Purchases From Bosch, Eli Lilly & More

Here is another round of large company domain purchases from the series DotWeekly Discoveries. The following domain names were either recently registered or purchased in the domain name aftermarket or directly from the past owner of the domain name. Big list today with several interesting situations.

Fiserv, Inc.

Has purchased the domain name Navigator1.com from Sedo. I thought I had seen a price on this one, but I couldn’t find it now.

Fiserv, Inc. (NASDAQ: FISV) is a leading global provider of information management and electronic commerce systems for the financial services industry, providing integrated technology and
services that create value and results for our clients.

AbbVie Inc. (Abbott)

Registered several domain names with the term “proceed” like YouProceed.net and YouProceed.org .info .biz . It does NOT appear they own YouProceed.com, which is listed as far as I can see
for $290 with a buy it now at Afternic! (I would buy it.. but I don’t have the money but it would be a little risky considering the recent TM they filed, see below)

They also registered iProceed.net again registering most TLD’s but do not own the .com, MyProceed.com, .net etc., ProceedJourney.com, ProceedOnline.net and most other TLD’s but not owning
the .com, ProceedPortal.com .net etc, ProceedSupport.com, ViekiraProceed.com .net etc.

They do not own Proceed.com either.

Abbvie Inc. did file a trademark for the term “Proceed” on 5/27/2014 for “providing medical information”

Gloco Berhad

Spent $10,000 for the domain name ghealth.com via sedo. I would have to bet that the seller was thinking “google” was the buyer. The domain was registered in 2008.

GLOCO creates innovative IT healthcare systems for a broad range of fields and specialties and was created in 1997.

Atlantic Business Technologies, Inc.

Purchased the domain name QualityScore.com via Sedo for $3,750

Unknown

CSC Corporate Domains registered the domain name TheToxicEffect.net likely on be-half of a client. This took place on 7/21/2014. What makes this registration interesting is
TheToxicEffect.com was registered 7 days prior on 7/14/2014 to a Zenophon Abraham and I do not see any connection between the two. I have reached out to the .com owner to see if he could
share some details…. TheToxicEffect.org domain was registered almost exactly to the date (7/22/2013) 1 year ago. That domain is under whois privacy but is a fully developed site and
appears to be in Spanish and is related to the enviroment.

Robert Bosch GmbH

Hand registered the domain name ChooseTheRightInjector.com

Bosch, is a German multinational engineering and electronics company headquartered in Gerlingen, near Stuttgart, Germany.

This domain registration is a little bit odd, because when was the last time you were able to choose which injectors were installed in your motor when you purchase a new car? Bosch does
sell aftermarket injectors though.

Eli Lilly and Company

Went with Bosch and also registered an “injection” style domain name with DiabetesInjection.com . They also registered the domain InjectBasablar.com . Eli Lilly filed for a trademark for
the term Basablar on 5/6/2014  and also registered the domain Basablar.com on 6/2/2011.

They also registered OnceDailyBasaglar.com and PrescribeBasaglar.com

Sanofi

Followed Eli Lilly and registered a “Diabetes” domain with DiabetesStarCloud.com

Sanofi is a leading global healthcare company that discovers, develops, produces and markets innovative therapies to help protect health and enhance people’s lives.

Omega World Travel, Inc.

Registered the domain name JumpStartTravel.com . The domain was registered before but expired 1/18/2013 and was created in 2010 prior to it expiring.

Biogen Idec

A biotech company registered the domain name FindMyCore.com

Facebook Inc.

Registered several domain names relating to AppAdsHelper.com but that is the “main” domain they appear to be putting to use! The domain doesn’t resolve yet, but they have set DNS for it, so they likely will launch something on it shortly.

They also registered, TheAppAdsHelper.com .net, AppAdsHelper.net, AppAdsHelpers.com .net . All of these use DnStination Inc. in whois and do not display “Facebook” as AppAdsHelper.com
does.

DDB Wordlwide (DDB.com / DDB.fr)

Purchased the domain name RomanceAgency.com from HugeDomains. The domain name was listed for $1,695 and was the likely purchase price.

DDB is an advertising agency

Pfizer Inc.

Registered the domain name DownloadMyTools.com and appears to be getting ready to use it right away.

Twitter Inc.

Registered two domain names and those were TwitterComedyFest.com and TwitterComedyFestival.com . Twitter held a “comedy fest” on Twitter in May 2013 with Comedy Central, so maybe they are doing it again?

  1. Observation – big companies register a lot of what domain investors would consider pretty bad domains. Imagine trying to sell these on a domain forum.

  2. You would have to be a psychic with deep pockets to buy these as they are all marketing/product domains,i am sure some of those brands own the good generics.
