Company Domain Movers: TQ.com, Pleat.com + More

Pearson TQ

Welcome, this is Domain Movers. We focus on company related domain name transaction and report these early findings to you.

Here are the latest detection’s over the weekend:

Sabal Financial Europe Ltd has acquired VictoriaCapital.com at domain name aftermarket service Sedo, which sold for $15,000 EUR. The transaction took place back in March 2017 but the buyers were just revealed now.

Airb.com has been acquired from SNC Air B Aviation by domain name buying service Marksmen. Airbnb has used Marksmen prior and would be a likely buyer for this domain but it’s currently unknown.

TurboMoney.com has been acquired from Blue Nova Inc. by Marksmen for a currently unknown client.

Xpotiva.com which Marksmen acquired, was purchased for Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc.

GoDaddy has sold Viewed.com out of its NameFind portfolio. NameWeb BVBA, a Belgian domain registrar is listed in whois. Update: buyers were Opera TV. More info here, as this was a cover purchase for a new rebrand as Vewd.

DoBusiness.net has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client from BuyDomains. I actually assisted the .com owners to acquire DoBusiness.com earlier this year.

CSC remained busy buying domains, as they always do for clients. This continued at Afternic with the purchases of MultiQuick.com and SummerFling.com

World Vasectomy Day has acquired WVD.org at out of GoDaddy’s NameFind portfolio. They are currently using WorldVasectomyDay.org.

AvidHotel.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. This currently unknown client due to generic whois data is “going big” to protect this likely future brand name and is registering a lot of similar domains in both singular and plural versions. AvidHotel.com was owned by HugeDomains prior and held a buy now price of $2,695.

Weight Watchers International has acquired WWCruise.com from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc. . Frank also sold the domain names Truckware.com, BuyHemp.com and BlackMarker.com.

Gloud.com has been acquired by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The domain was owned by CHL Verwaltung GmbH prior, who also owns Gloud.de and is an internet service provider.

Pleat.com has been sold by Telepathy Inc. Whois records display Silka Law currently in whois records. I have been seeing several Pleat related domains being registered by unknown corporate clients at CSC.

Amazon Technologies Inc. (assumed due to generic whois data, potentially could be another company/campaign to get Amazon to the city) registered several Amazon To Detroit domain names. AmazonToDetroit.com, AmaonToTheD.com and Amazon2Detroit.com. Is this in relation to the new search for a 2nd headquarters?

Liberty Mutual Insurance Company registered TotalHomeScore.com adding to the 4,900 other domains already owned by the company.

Blackhawk Network Holdings, Inc. acquired SpaGiftCards.com, a domain name that has been registered since 2004. The transaction took place around February 2016 and was using Efty at the time.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG has acquired AlphaRent.com. The domain has been registered since 2013 and was using the Uniregistry system at the time of the sale.

AbbVie Inc. registered HealthyEpisodes.com, .net, .org and .info adding to the 8,000+ other domains owned by the company already.

DearWorld.com has been sold by Microsoft Corporation to DearWorld.me and a Robert Fogarty. The domain has been registered since 1997 and appeared to be listed on Sedo. It appears Microsoft had several domains listed for sale on Sedo with Make Offer and was using FPQ.biz to offer these domains for sale, but has since removed that offering page. Some domains are still listed on Sedo, some sold and some were no longer listed. Popfly.com for an example is still listed and requires a minimum offer amount of $9,000 for an example. PowerTogether.com is another one, which holds a minimum offer amount of $1,500 and HealthQuest.com holds a $10,000 minium offer (which has 7 offers placed to date). You can see the list of domains here: https://web.archive.org/web/20160308231800/http://www.fpq.biz/?dearworld.com

Edlund A/S has acquired Edlund.com from Tucows Inc. . The domain name was part of its Mailbank portfolio of surnames they own.

SnackFace.com has been acquired by a currently unknown SafeNames client. Interestingly, SnackFace.net and .org were registered at MarkMonitor on June 1, 2017.

Pearson Education, Inc. has sold 2 letter domain name TQ.com to a Chinese domain investor. I had noted the status change last week and the potential sale but the domain has officially changed ownership. Pearson’s also owns AW.com which is currently being brokered by BrandIT the last time I had looked. Pearson redirected TQ.com to an offering called Pearson TQ prior, https://www.pearson.com/uk/web/pearsontq.html

MEO Vertriebs GmbH has acquired MEO.net at domain name aftermarket service Sedo.

GLPP.com has been acquired by UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) and is now being used for Great Lakes Physician Practice, which uses the matching acronym.

Secrete.com has moved into Escrow.com using DN Holding. The 1998 registered domain was using Uniregistry at the time.
