Company Domain Movers: Drip.com, Orena.com + More

Orena.com

This is Domain Movers. We keep track of company related domain name transactions and report these early findings. These are often indicators of new brands, domain upgrades, future advertising efforts and more.

Transaction volume has been lower than normal the past couple of days, so I’ll blame that on the solar eclipse and the end of summer!

Drip.com has transferred out of SafeNames to GoDaddy and now displays Avenue 81, Inc. in whois records as the owners. The domain was for sale in 2014 and sold, which I reported here and transferred to SafeNames under privacy in August 2014. It is unclear when Avenue 81 purchased it. Drip.com is redirecting to Drip.co, which is owned by Avenue 81 and is an email marketing service.

Esports Entertainment has acquired Orena.com at domain name aftermarket service Afternic.com for an undisclosed amount. The domain was owned by GoDaddy’s NameFind division and moved into escrow on May 4, 2017. Orena is actually a surname but more likely a branding play on “Arena”.

  1. Nationstar may have rebranded because it never owned Nationstar.com, which goes to a Chinese company of the same name. Surely, there was significant traffic leakage away from NationStarMtg.com to NationStar.com. Yet, the company failed to learn its lesson and only registered MrCooper.com and failed to get MisterCooper.com as well. Doh!
