Argis Solutions Acquires Argis.com + Many More Domain Movers

Argis.com

Domain Movers is an exclusive series on DotWeekly that keeps track of company related domain name transactions. These are often very early discoveries and highlight domain name upgrades for companies, future branding, marketing and advertising and much more.

Domain names are vital assets to companies around the world and extremely important. Here is a sneak peak into a small sampling of some of the activity taking place daily:

BU.org has been sold at Sedo to a currently unknown buyer. In general, most 2 letter .org domain names sell for $xx,xxx

Early Warning Services, LLC. has acquired ZelleNetwork.com via Marksmen when the domain name expired and was dropped. The domain was acquired via DropCatch.com for an undisclosed amount. Early Warning is a nationwide specialty consumer reporting agency and owns the Zelle trademark, Zelle Network and Zelle Networks trademarks.

Axton.com which I mentioned was recently acquired and potentially a large transaction, was acquired by Axton Partners according to whois records. Although, there isn’t much information as to who or what Axton Partners is. The email is connected to Obern.com, which is owned by Sue Oberndorf of San Francisco, CA. and may be in connection to William Oberndorf of SPO Partners but that isn’t fully clear. To note, the email address for Axton is for “Peter”, who appears to be Peter Oberndorf, potentially the son? of William and Susan Oberndorf. Peter Oberndorf is the managing director, founder and COO of Destination Homes L.P. which is part of Oberndorf Enterprises, LLC. William Oberndorf is the chairman of Oberndorf Enterprises, LLC. The whois address for Axton.com matches the address of Oberndorf Enterprises, LLC.

Triad Retail Media has acquired RetailRelevance.com from HugeDomains.com. The domain held a buy now of $2,395

VideoDesign.com sells for $50,000 as reported by Mike Mann on his social network feeds. He purchased the domain on November 1, 2007 for $2,700. The domain sold at Sedo and held a buy now of $94,888 on DomainMarket. Mike also sold LocalFoodTours.com for $19,000, which he acquired January 13, 2012 for $7. In general, Mike owns around 300,000 domains, with an annual renewal cost of around $2.7 million for the portfolio ($9 x 300,000), which doesn’t include acquisition costs similar to the $2,700 spent on VideoDesign.com. What I’m trying to say, $50K sales don’t happen with every domain but they do happen. Invest wisely and don’t get stuck on the “sales price”.

MarkMonitor acquired Applu.com and Aptle.com for a currently unknown client but one would expect it to be Apple as both domains would be typo’s of Apple.com.

Google LLC were the buyers as I expected of Dataly.com

Britney.org has expired with whois stating the registrant as Britney Spears Online. The domain is registered at eNom, so if the expiration continues, the domain should end up at NameJet in an expired auction. I did see the domain listed on Sedo with a $500 minimum offer but it’s not clear when it was listed or if its listed by the actual owner of the domain.

Bosch has acquired ConnectedBiking.com from its past owners for an undisclosed amount. The domain was using Undeveloped.com at the time of the sale.

JetBlack.com has been acquired by a currently unknown MarkMonitor client. The domain was for sale using the Uniregistry system. Name servers have been set, so I wouldn’t expect it to be long before we may have an idea of who the buyer is. To note, the domain was under whois privacy and prior to privacy, the domain name was owned by Jet.com, Inc., who acquired it from Netcorp, LLC around July 18, 2016. Then the domain moved to whois privacy. There is potential that Walmart/Jet.com still own the domain and are just now updating name servers from when it was acquired in July 2016. Name servers for Jet.com and JetBlack.com are similar, so I’d expect Jet.com/Walmart are still the owners but I didn’t note the sale from 2016, so it still matters.

Pilar BV has acquired React.com which held a buy now price of $203,654 at the time of the transaction, although the exact sale price is unknown. The company currently uses React.nl which resolves to Parse.nl for Parse Software Development. The domain name sold at Sedo.

Nerium International has acquired SuccessToday.com also at domain name aftermarket service Sedo for an undisclosed amount. The company is using the domain name to redirect to a sub-domain https://successtoday.nerium.com/us/en/opportunity and promoting to become Nerium Brand Partners.

Tiv.com has moved into escrow at Sedo. The domain name was owned by TIV Operations Group and did have a full website on the domain. Any time a domain name is in use by a company and somebody comes in to buy the domain name they are using for email, branding, the website etc. it takes some $$$$ to motive to sell. Add on top of that, it’s a 3 letter, pronounceable .com which is already a premium domain…. The buyers are currently unknown but the domain is pendingtransfer currently so we may find out soon.

USCD.com has been acquired by buyer broker service Marksmen for a currently unknown client. The domain name has been registered since December 1998.

Token Holdings Limited of the UK has acquired Tokens.net from Frank Schillings Name Administration Inc. It appears this transaction likely took place in late 2017 but whois data just updated. The company will be offering a cryptocurrency exchange based on the landing page.

CodeFix.com was acquired by Aurea Software, also from Name Administration Inc. The domain name held a buy now of $33,800 but the exact sales price is unknown. NAI also sold Nightware.com ($45,500 BIN) and Telmax.com ($31,200 BIN).

Happychic Services were the buyers of earlier announced FashionCo.com. The company currently uses HappychicGroup.com as its main domain name. The company is based in France and if I had to guess, maybe they are rebranding to FashionCo?

GlobalSound.com has been acquired from Netincome Ventures Inc. by a currently unknown CSC Corporate Domains client. The last time I checked, Garry Chernoff, owner of Netincome Ventures doesn’t sell domain names cheap!

Argis Solutions, LLC has acquired its exact match .com domain name Argis.com from Rockwell Collins (very large public company). This is a big domain name upgrade for Argis Solutions, which currently uses ArgisSolutions.com as its main domain name but brands with a large Argis and small Solutions text. Rockwell Collins acquired a company called Argis International and is why they owned the domain name since around 2010.

LBX.com has been acquired by London Block Exchange from a prior Chinese owner. The transaction appears to have taken place around November 16, 2017.
